Peavey Classic 30

I don't have the Jack Daniel's model, but it's the same amp as the classic 30, just a superficial difference. I've had 3 of these amps over the years and have gotten rid of them, because I kept thinking I was trading up to something better (it was all just useless gearhead syndrome, scratching that itch, you know). Anyway, I now have my third one, I kept coming back to them and I'm keeping this one. These are really great sounding and playing amps. I'd like for them to have a presence control and seperate EQ for both the clean and overdrive channels, but it's really pretty balanced overall without these features. They are totally reliable and extremely versatile for all applications, the clean channel responds great to any pedal and gives them incredible warmth. As is, no pedals involved, this amp has a great, warm, rich clean channel with great top end sparkle and snap. The overdrive is also very warm and full of overtones, very responsive to player input, very Marshall like nature. SRV, Hendrix, Zeppelin and all less driven blues/rock, it's there completely. This amp sounds great if your inexperienced and just play it straight, it'll sound good for you and if you can really give it some player input it's really quite an awsome and inspiring amp to play. Like I said it's really responsive so choosing one cable from the next can make all the difference to how it sounds, so if you have an ear for the subtleties of your playing and your equipment this amp will reveal those finer details. It's really a great tube amp, that offers all the warmth, sensitivity and inspiring tone you'd expect or hope for in a tube amp, and the price! This is a great value trust me, it's great from late night volumes to somebody is calling the cops loud. Really a good looking, solid built amp and yeah, really sweet sounding useable reverb. This amp will not let you down, I've had 3 of them over the last 7 years so I say that from experience.
