  • This Grind is for grind

As reviewed by Kyle on 8/4/2009

I play multiple styles of music on guitar and am now beginning taking formal lessons for bass. For what i've learned so far on this grind this thing is perfect for metal. You can fingerpick, slap, pop the strings well, and as my bass teacher demonstrated do 8 finger tapping. This thing can crunch death metal and buzz like KoRn and can even play the Police (it's true this dude on youtube played "message in a bottle" perfectly). Pretty much this is a "budget" version of the cirrus but it plays like a boutique. For whatever music you play or can think up this will do it. Works well with a big muff also.

  • Amazing

As reviewed by jordan on 2/11/2008

I've had this bass for almost a year now and i must say it impresses me more every day. I play to shows a week a mess around on it at least two hours a night and i keep finding more and more amazing quality's. The low B string thunders through the passive pickups but it picks up the highest highs with purity and clarity. No matter what kind of music you play this bass will suit your every need and never let you down. I would recommend getting some virtuoso premium polish, it really helps it keep its finish.

  • Very Impressive Bass

As reviewed by Ray Grigonis on 3/17/2009

I'm an old timer who used to play progressive rock in the '70's. When my son spoke to me about wanting to learn how to play bass, we decided to share one to see if he would like it. We bought a short money set in the beginning and upgraded several times. I used to play a Rickenbacker and after having this bass professionally set up and Rotosound strings put on it, she sounds pretty close to the old Ricki. I had a real hard time putting it down last night. The Peavey Grind is a great bass that feels great in my hands. The problem is when you go to a guitar store they aren't set up very well from the factory. I can assure you, they're great once you have it set up right. Ray
