Thermal-fused. No dead spots or loose windings. Peavey XL bass strings are for 35" scale. Long string set fits 34" scale basses. Gauges: .045, .065, .080, .105.
When I purchased my Cirrus, I had no idea which strings it came with. I thought I would replace them with D'Addario Vic Wooten's. But I liked the Cirrus Thermalfused strings as much as the D'Addario's. Being a classical artist,I am very particular about my instrument, it's setup, strings, etc. These demands carry over into the jazz/contemporary styles. Strings must have consistency in timbre, tone and feel over the entire registry of the instrument. Peavey Cirrus Thermalfused Strings have all of these qualities. By the way, price is no object to me when it comes to performing on bass guitar the way Vic or others do.
These are the only strings that I have used on my Cirrus Bass. They play so well that I've never wanted to try other strings on my bass. My fingers just love the feel of these strings. I just wish that local stores kept them in stock.
