Bandit 112
I know there are a million amps out there for a million budgets, and a million tastes. I chose this amp mostly for the price, and also because I could not find anyone that had a negative thing to say about Peavey products.
This amp is LOUD, period. The clean channel is very nice and clean, especially when playing on single coils. The lead channel has several settings, and all basically kick ass. You can sound like Pete Townsend on the classic setting, like any 80's hair band on the modern setting, and like death-come-to-your-rehearsal on the high gain setting. In all settings, the sound is rich and warm.....in fact, I have tried to make the amp sound cheap, and I can't.
The effects loop brings my old tired pedals to life. I was truly blown away by how good the effects sounded, especially my MXR flanger. The other big feature that made me buy this amp was the ability to drive an external 8 ohm cabinet without the main speaker cutting out.
Having said all those nice things, this amp still deserves a few dings in the ratings. First, mine came without the 2 buttom footswitch. Second, Peavey could take a page out of Crate's book and illuminate the front panel. Even a simple LED to show which channel is active would be a huge improvement. Finally, although it isn't a huge deal, there is some noticeable hiss present. I did not notice this in the store with all the ambient noise, but in my house it is definitely there. My guess would be that at a gig it would go unnoticed unless I mike up the amp which I normally don't do.

Frieken awesome amp!
This amp is absoloutley amazing! It is loud, the sound of it is awesome and it has cool features. the lead channel on this has awesome sound from the vintage to classic to modern distortion, you are able to find your perfect tone on this thing. And the cleans are great for every style of music. It has 3 seperate switches for the clean channel and you can get the perfect sound for blues. i also love the switches on the back. It has a damping switch to give you a sabbath style tone and other sounds. it also has a power switch to go from 25% 50% and 100% power. the last feature is the line out port enabeling you to play from the amp to a pa system. There is ONLY positive things to say about this amp. BUY IT!!!!!!!

Its All You Will Ever Need
The Peavey Bandit is one of the most reliable amps out there. I played this and a Vox, and even though the Vox had a tube pre-amp, the Peavey Bandit with its tube circuitry sounded more like a tube amp than the Vox. When I recorded with this amp, we ran our guitars through a tube pre-amp, and it sounded great. This amp can even handle my bass, which says a lot. Also, having a pre-gain and post-gain on the lead channel means that you can push a lot of distortion and still be quiet enough to let your room mate sleep. There are also 3 different types of distortion, High Gain, Modern, and Classic. This is a reliable and great sounding amp, and I would recommend this amp to anyone.

AMAZING
This amp is unreal. My son and I both play guitar. I play professionally and my son is well on his way. I bought the Bandit for my son four months ago, in March 2009. The sound is amazing for a solid state amp. I've owned and played through a lot of solid state amps and this is the best I've ever heard. This thing is the closest (solid state) rival of true tube tone you'll find out there. The Bandit has cool features, great tone, plenty of volume, a footswitch, and is very affordable. Not only do I trust it to gig with, but I'd buy it again. Tone snobs, you don't have to pay thousands for an amp that sounds good. Our next interests are the Peavey Classic 50 & the 3120. There are a lot of great amp manufacturers out there, Peavey is one of them and their amps are great & affordable for working musicians.

The best amp I have ever owned.
I own the 99 version of this amp- the one with the shefield speaker. I love this amp, can't go any where with out it- Between my favorite amps Ive played( mesa boogie dual rectifier, 6505, and This one) This one is third. But for this amp being solid state it pretty balzy. If you want monster full tone for metal or metalcore then I suggest getting an extended cab or just buy two of these. Two of these amps will supply more than enough distortion with a noise gate, because on mine with out one- I need one . The thing starts to scream death at 2 on lead channel with the pre all the way up, but another amp with a noise gate will end that, I use a rp 90 with mine , It has a setting cald 01' mesa boogie dual rectifier!! So i get pretty much the best of both worlds. I've been playing for about 6 to 7 years. Also the clean on this amp is great, the reverb is excellent too, so don't listen to the fools telling you other wise, you can make this thing sound like your in a Gymnasium if you wanted to. I leave mine in between 3 and 4 and thats enough for me, but if I wanted to i could get that early EVH tone if I wanted too. Great amp, so buy one or two!!!
