this thing makes some of the meanest noise i've ever heard with my own two ears. the level of gain is ridiculous, and the tone is unbelievable. the 6505's range of tones is very broad, and the resonance and presence controls really help to flesh out your tone. the clean channel does its job, but i don't use it very much... hence the reason i didn't get the + model. this is the ultimate metal amp, and is worth every penny i payed for it. make sure you get a noise suppressor of some sort, because there's some nasty feedback that this amp gives out. the youtube videos and reviews don't do much justice to it, you have to play one of these things yourself. this is no question one of the best amps for genres ranging from rock to hardcore to deathcore and all the rest, and worth every cent.

This amp does it all---well almost. It has a great clean channel that can be overdriven to a mild breakup, and the Crunch in that channel is fantastically full of body. The Lead channel can be a bit fizzy however but rocks. Amp reacts well to guitar volume adjustments. Footswitching is great. Change the tubes brand to TAD for PA and JJ for preamp, leave two of the power tubes out (make sure you know which two for a 50 Watt beast) and it sounds and breathes better. If you want more flexibility for just a bit more, go for the JSX model. Have your knowledgable tech SAFELY mod to accept 6L6-GC or EL34.
