This is my second Sensitone steel snare and, just like my first one, with new Remo heads and a RemO's ring, you can acquire that "crack" that you're looking for. Great snare at a very affordable price.
This snare has a great tone and is nice and crisp. the ghost notes are great on it and the rimshots sound amazing.I was very impressed by this steel snare. I'm definitely not selling this snare. I'm hooked on steel snares now.
This snare is a great steel snare if you are new to steel snares. Put an evens or remo head on it and you have one great snare that has crack and a solid tone to it. Pretty easy to tune, slight overtones, but nothing to worry about.
I've never used a steel snare before, but I was pleasantly surprised with the sound. After getting this snare I quickly found that the sound I've always wanted from a snare was pretty much the natural way this snare played. It may have been a coincidence that this happened, but regardless I love the sound, and I love the snare!
If you want to dive into the world of the steel snares, this is your first step. Great sound, nice rimshots.
low price & tuned right has a crisp sound & open rime allows for full sounding rim-shots
My church bought a Pearl Vision set, and this snare was included with it. With all the bad experience I'd had up till then with metal snares, I thought, "Oh great, another steel snare." Little did I know that this would be the best sounding steel snare I've ever heard! I was instantly surprised at how nice and dry the sound was, with little overtones, and a moderate, but not overbearing attack. The rimshots have plenty of crack, and the cross-sticks have so much pop, that I immediately fell in love with the sound of this snare. Buy one today! You won't be disappointed!
