I bought my Icon Rack 7 years ago and purchased 2 of the PCL 100 clamps at that time. Over many years of practice, recording sessions and gigging they have worked extremely well and I've had zero problems with them. I recently bought two additional clamps to add to the rack and was pleased to see while the price remained the same the clamps had been upgraded to include spring tension. great product. zero issues

There are several problems with this product. The first thing is that since the rack is high, if you put a cymbal arm on this, the cymbal will be 2 metres high, so you'll need small cymbal arms, so they wont be so high (though i have regular cymbal arms, so it isn't a problem, but if i could lower them, i would). The second problem is that it wobles like nuts. It can't be screwed tightly on the rack, so anything on it will be able to woble, turn, etc. though the symbal arm cannot fall for some reason. Though it sucks, you'll need them anyways, so if you have a rack, you should get four of them.

        Great Hardware.

        By Bobby Lancaster

Comments about Pearl PCL-100 Pipe Leg Clamp for ICON Series Racks:

I've been a user of Pearl drums and hardware for almost 5 years, and I have found that they not only make the best drums around, but they make the best designed and sturdiest of hardware. I bought these pipe clamps to put on the two remaining legs of my Icon rack. The others that came with the rack I just absolutely love. These clamps don't require much pressure to hold anything you put in them. It takes an allen wrench to simply attach them to the legs and a wing nut on the clamp tightens up whatever you put in the clamp. I have other clamps I've been using to hold cymbal stands, but using the leg just keeps more of the hardware out of sight and out of the way. In some cases the leg could be considered too high for the clamp and whatever you put into it, but if nothing else, you could cut the leg down in height to accommodate whatever it is you want. Just use a pipe cutter to get a clean straight cut and be sure to protect the chrome with tape before cutting. These clamps are sturdy, well designed, and become part of the leg, so there's less stuff in the way. I highly recommend these clamps, and I use every one of them on my rack.

        Take the cap off!

Comments about Pearl PCL-100 Pipe Leg Clamp for ICON Series Racks:

Two of these clamps came with the rack I ordered, and they work great. You don't have to have another clamp in the way, but you MUST remember to take the cap off the rack. Otherwise your stand will not telescope down into the rack and it will be way up in the air. I plan to buy at least one more of these.

Comments about Pearl PCL-100 Pipe Leg Clamp for ICON Series Racks:

I bought Pearl's DR-503 ICON rack and it came with 2 of these, which I didn't expect. I was trying to plan ahead to see how many clamps I would need to buy ahead of time to continue to use the cymbals I've got in my current set up. Little did I know these little gems would save me 2 clamps. These clamps blew me away. Like mentioned, you just pop off the rubber cap off the rack leg and put this clamp in place and you've got yourself a great cymbal stand holder. No slipping problem, good solid hold, Pearl so you know it's good. I'm buying 2 more to use on the back legs of the rack. I would definitely recommend these.

Get more use out of those rack legs.

Comments about Pearl PCL-100 Pipe Leg Clamp for ICON Series Racks:

Brilliant piece of gear... it turns the legs of your Icon effectively into cymbal stand bottoms. Just remove the plastic cap on top of the leg, and replace it with this clamp. now any boom arm will go right down into the leg, adjustable to any height. It's sturdy, as long as you tighten it securely, and don't leave the cap in place under the clamp. That would cause you to have to set your cymbals way up in the air, and they'd wobble all over the place... but that would be silly, right? Properly used, this clamp is a nice addition to any Icon rack.

        Useful but limited

        By AkiMtn

        from Los Angeles CA

Comments about Pearl PCL-100 Pipe Leg Clamp for ICON Series Racks:

It works fairly well for boom arms on a kit rack. They should have used a thumb screw instead on a lug screw as on the rack clamps. I sometimes use the rack for hand percussion and the tube mount is too high for my timbale. A PCX100 clamp costs about the same and is more versatile. If you don?t need the arm space go with an arm clamp.

Comments about Pearl PCL-100 Pipe Leg Clamp for ICON Series Racks:

This clamp works great. It is very convenient and doesn't take up any room on the rack. The only bad thing is that you really have to crank it down for it to clamp on too the smaller cymbal arms. Other than that this clamp works great.
