I got this snare about 4 months ago and i got to tell you, IT IS SWEET. The tone is has a snap to it no matter how you tune it. It is very versitile. You can get a MetallicA sound from the St. Anger album if you tune it up or an old school ACDC sound. The bongo sound also has a very "in your face" tone. A must have in your snare collection. The only problem is you need to get new heads ever once and awhile but that is the same with every snare.
ive been playinjg the drums for 4 years saddly still have the same drums set but finally starting to add to my set. i was at my local G.C. and compared it with a $1,200 dw snare and they sound the same.this snare is a one of a kind snare drum that has a sound quality of a $1,200.
I bought this snare and could not be more happy. I thought it might be too high pitched for my low toned drum set, but it still fits right in. I use evans heads on my kit, but I tried replacing this snare with a reverse center dot and the remo coated sounds best on this snare so far. I love the look, sound, and feel of this snare. Anyone that thinks they might want this should probably get it because its an incredible item.
i bought this snare from my local G.C. store the day it came out, and must say i am very impressed with the sound. it is a very versatile snare that would go good with just about any type of music you wanted to use it for. i was especially impressed by the fact that i didnt have to use anything such an the moongels, or e-rings on it to keep down the overtones. it has a very definative "crack" to it and projects really well. the hardware looks to be very strong and the finish is just phenominal. the pictures do this snare absolutely no justice. buy one, and i assure you that you will be very pleased with the purchase
