Overview

The Eliminator Demon Drive bass drum pedal was engineered to create the most seamless link between the player's musical ideas and his or her execution on a bass drum. Whether seeking to deliver lightning-fast blast beats or deep, rock-solid grooves, this Pearl drum pedal offers the adjustability to maximize your playing in any style.

Play a Pearl Demon Drive and the first thing you'll notice is its smoothness. The Demon Drive gets its incredible smoothness and speed through the use of ultra-precise hardware components. Self-aligning spherical bearings are used to insure the footboard and the Direct link drive are always in perfect alignment. Its zero-latency Z-Link Drive Shaft's U joints, and special super-high-speed Ninja bearings on the axles all work in perfect sync to create one of the smoothest and fastest pedals on the planet.

The most unique feature of the Demon Drive drum pedal is Pearl's exclusive Duo-Deck, the world's first convertible footboard. With a simple adjustment, the Demon Drive pedal can be adjusted from a traditional shortboard to a longboard pedal in seconds, offering a slightly lighter, quicker feel that is the preferred setup when speed is a necessity.

This bass pedal includes the world's first two-position Beater Stroke Adjustment and two-position Direct Link Adjustment. Both allow the player to create a slightly lighter or heavier feel of the pedal depending on their preferred setting. Adjusting the Duo-Deck in combination with the Beater Holder and Direct Link Adjustments yields 8 possible pedal configurations, allowing the player to truly create their ideal feel.

The Click Lock spring tension system prevents the tension knob from loosening. The Traction Plate, which has aluminum traction dots, is fully adjustable for the amount of slip or grip you want . Its footboard height-adjustment capability enables you to loosen and rotate the footboard to the desired height. And finally, the Pearl pedal comes standard with a Carrying Case to protect it from the wear and tear of travel.

Note: Slave pedal may need stabilization with the PS-85 Pedal Stabilizer.

Pearl: ELIMINATOR DEMON DRIVE DOUBLE PEDAL
Simple Put!
(keeping it clean) BEST DARN PEDAL EVER!
Great: Speed, Durability, Quick Change, Workmanship,
Easy Set up and breakdown, Very Nice carrying case, Great looks!

If I had to find fault in it, it would be the carrying case.
It is a very good case But, at the price I think a little nicer Hard Case would be better!
and the beaters are very good but not the top of line beaters.
For being the top of the line, I believe it should have come with the top of the line betters also with Hard case.
But neither the beaters or case take away form how great this pedal Performs, PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still the "Best Darn Pedal Evey!"

FYI - I returned my Demon Drive Double pedals (got them replaced with much superior TRICK Pro V2 Bigfoot pedals) after 1mth - the Demon Drives were simply no longer usable as the beater & clamp assembly kept on slipping no matter how tight I would tighten the beater adjustment clamp. I have +30 years of drumming experience and when i saw this issue first hand IMO there is a serious engineering issue that requires immediate attention with the beater stroke adjustment clamshell. I had both beater clamshells replaced once at Steve's Ottawa but it was obvious that as soon as you start tinkering with it and making adjustments the aluminum casted clamshell starts wearing and begins to constantly slip along the shaft. From the attached pic you can see that there simply isn't enough surface contact in the clamshell with the pedal shaft. As well, the clamshell inner linning is fairly smooth which doesn't help. As soon as it starts wearing (getting smoother) a bit and you play hard and fast the problem keeps worsening till it slips all the time and becomes unusable. As of yet no word back from Pearl regarding this defective design. I woulod be interested in hearing what Pearl has to say about it.

    Smooth and Precise

    By Max

Comments about Pearl Eliminator Demon Drive Double Pedal:

I ordered these pedals almost a year ago. It is important to note that I got them used- half the price but in excellent condition. I received the direct drive double pedal in its carrying case within the week and immediately broke it out and set it up. It was fast, smooth and fluid and got going with almost no effort. However, I personally don't like my pedals set too light and began tinkering with the settings- of which there are many. I use the pedals as too singles (you can do that pretty easily, which is fantastic) to use with my double bass, and set them to longboards. Since there are so many adjustments, it took several weeks to really dial in the settings to fit my playing perfectly. They truly are lightning fast with a heavenly feel, as Pearl advertises, and for getting them half off used with no real wear on them, the price wasn't so much of an issue for me. However, the beaters are a little on the cheap side. While they look awesome the felt wears away and leaves a film of black residue at the point of impacts on the kick head(s) and they aren't quite as loud as I'd like- although this will be an easy fix once I decide on which beaters to replace them with. My only qualm about getting these is how they've held up over time. I play metal, kick hard and can reach about 250/260 BPM, but I know how to care for my equipment and do so very well. They began to become a little less smooth rather quickly, and within a few weeks I noticed that the beaters wouldn't move quite as freely; like if I took my foot off the pedal and let it swing, it would swing for shorter periods of time as if the pedal was getting some resistance of its own. This had nothing to do with the adjustments I was making, it is a wearing down of the pedal. That said, they are still far better than anything else I have used, and I am mostly happy with these. If you're able to spend around $600 for pedals, these are a great contender, but there are others out there that may do a better job. It is important to try everything out, as I did, and especially mess around with the settings until you know which pair is going to suit you the best. These are great pedals with some less than great problems, but nothing to keep me from playing and getting better.

    Best thing I'll ever own

    By Kristian

    from Martinsville, Indiana

Comments about Pearl Eliminator Demon Drive Double Pedal:

I saved for months to buy this pedal and all I can say is that this thing has to be beyond any gods creation. It is a masterpiece. When I got the pedal set up my feet played so easily and fast that it was pathetic. I had to take a day to learn how to control myself because all previous pedals I've played on took so much power and when I tried to apply "normal" to this pedal, I couldn't even keep time because the pedal was so easy and great. I would tell anyone to buy this pedal and that it is the best thing there ever going to rest their feet on no matter what they've had before. This pedal allows you to stop worrying about power and feel and let's you focus on your music. BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

      slave lag is zero

      By Tami Kyre

      from Columbia SC

Comments about Pearl Eliminator Demon Drive Double Pedal:

Actually, maybe like one of the reviews says, it's more responsive. That's based on my iron cobras that overbuilt my left side to make up for the extremely sluggish IC slave. The Demon makes you feel so connected to the bass drum with NO loss of power. Do you experience loss of power playing live? It's called a microphone.

Comments about Pearl Eliminator Demon Drive Double Pedal:

These pedals are perfect for any situation. Personally I play Djent, speed metal, and Metalcore on my own time, but I play professionally in a hardcore band, HerEcho. I've been using axis pedals for almost three years now, and where they were ok for my own personal use, I could never get a feel from them that i liked when playing with band I tour with and could never keep a consistent setup with them. However I recently purchased these pedals and was blown away. In a matter of minutes of unbloxing these bad boys (and converting them to long boards) I was able to find the perfect setup that not only felt smoother and faster than my Axis pedals, but also felt perfect for any genre of music I felt like playing. I will never regret buying these pedals and I would recommend them over any other pedals. I've owned iron cobras and dw5000 as well and these encompass everything good about all the pedals I've ever played plus more. All around the perfect pedal in any situation.

This pedal is great! Nice and smooth! However the price tag is unnecessarily high. For what you get, it seems too overpriced. Sure it's a great pedal, but I'm not willing to pay this much for one. I use the pedals at practices and gigs but only because our vocalist is a hobbyist drummer and bought them for his person drum set on Black Friday for cheaper.
