I've been sold on Pearl drums and hardware for a few years now, and I use two of these CH2000S on my pearl rack (along with other pearl cymbal holders). For the money, these are by far the BEST you can get. The rod converts from a boom to slipping down inside the tube to make it a regular Non-Boom stand, which is really inventive. The gyro tilter is killer in that you don't have to constantly worry about ratcheting the tilter just right to get that angle you want. This cymbal boom is one of the best on the market, and I haven't had one problem with it. It's built to last! It's been solid, reliable, and it's never lost its position once it's set. I've had these going on 5 years, and I have to tell you, they've been one of the best investments I ever made in hardware. You won't regret buying these, especially if you have a pearl rack and put them in your rack posts. Totally Awesome!
Pearl makes some of the best cymbals stands, in my opinion. I'm quite particular and they pay a lot of attention to detail with their hardware. This little jewel is perfect for attaching to an auxiliary clamp, either on one of your other cymbal stands, or in my case, to the extra clamp that is part of my dual tom stands that allows you to put it just behind the two toms. I use it for a splash cymbal and woodblock. It's designed to add another item, such as a cowbell. Or it can be arranged so as to hold two small cymbals as well as a block or cowbell (with an extra titler). I wanted to try the trick new cymbal hold-down clip on top to see if I'd like to get more for my other stands and it seems pretty convenient and plenty strong. It seems pretty expensive, but when you calculate all the functions it performs in one space saving piece it's well worth it. And, as mentioned, Pearl makes first cabin gear. Get it. You'll be stoked when it arrives.
