Great for playing standing up studio or home; not for mobile use — or for playing in a seated position

This appears to be a great, very stable conga stand. And, if I were going to use it to play standing up at home or in the studio, it looks like it would be great, though a little confusing to set up — which, considering it comes already assembled, I would say is a small negative, but once you figure it out, it's probably not a problem. The problem is it's very heavy and does not appear to be suitable for a sitting player. So, since I the reasons that I ordered it were to use for performances and to be able to play sitting down, it doesn't appear to be suitable at all for me. Carrying two congas to performances is plenty enough to carry. This stand feels like it weighs more than one of the drums. Great for stability — feels really solid — but not for carrying around from gig to gig, and too high to play sitting down.
