Overview

The Parkwood PW310M Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar has a solid spruce top, and solid back and sides. Braces are hand scalloped and cosmetic appointments are elegant. The PM310M is finished in an ultra thin "open pore" finish that lets the sound come through loud and clear.

Whether you've been playing for years, or are looking to upgrade to your first high quality guitar, Parkwood is your only choice for solid woods, expert build, exceptional playability and real tone at an extraordinary price.

Open Pore Finish
This finish is applied in several layers that allow the open pores of the wood to be felt and to also allow the wood to breathe and vibrate at its best. You can actually feel the wood grain, like it was a raw unfinished piece of wood. The tone of an open pore finish is loud, alive and natural.

Top - Sitka Spruce (Picea sitchensis)
Sitka Spruce comes from the Pacific northwest and today is the most commonly used wood for guitar tops. Sitka is a bit stronger and stiffer than other spruces. Its strength and toughness make it well suited for steel string guitars.

Back & Sides - Mahogany (Khaya ivorensis)
Mahogany is softer and lighter than Rosewood. Generally, Mahogany is warmer and has more low end, providing a strong, thumping bass with an emphasis on clear, bright, airy, trebles. It's also used for bracing, binding, end blocks, heel blocks and necks

I just bought my Parkwood PW310M guitar and I wasn't even in the market for a new guitar. I was just checking out a big sale at Guitar Center and was trying out the acoustics when I picked up the Parkwood. I was immediately impressed by the volume and then by the nice tone. I knew it would be heard even in the venue we have for our jam session, which has no acoustics at all. It also felt more comfortable than any other guitar I ever played. I didn't need a new guitar, but I just couldn't resist taking it home with me. I knew that I'd be kicking myself harder if I didn't buy it. Now I'm still enjoying playing it.

I bought this guitar last May. I knew that the action was high so I took it to a luthier. He found that there were also three high frets. He said that people who knew guitars would have passed this guitar by because of the action and the frets. Now that all of that is taken care of it plays well enough. If I get another guitar it will be smaller.

By Paul Pennisi

Comments about Parkwood PW310M Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I did buy it a Guitar Center storeI almost purchased the smaller model - a few times...but very happy that I waited. Overall the Guitar is perfect. The action on mine was just right, the materials are of high quality- the sound is powerful - and strumming and finger picking are equally great sounding. Right now the only guitar I am using- I cannot put it down-

ASTONISHING! One of my best buys!

By Violet

from Killeen, TX

Comments about Parkwood PW310M Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Like many of the others on here, I was looking for a better guitar. I had a Martin in mind when I set out, and played about 6 different named brand guitars while I was at GC. I just didn't feel right about spending over $800. at that time, so I was on my way out, and my son said, "Look at this guitar, its on sale"..... so reluctantly, I picked up the Parkwood (as I never heard of Parkwood before). As I strummed, I was ASTONISHED!!! how it sounded, as good or better than the Martins I just put played. My gut feeling was to just buy it, in spite of not knowing the name, and I'm soo glad I did! I've progressed, excelled and play regularly in church now, since I feel I had a descent guitar. Sooo glad, I listened to my son, when he told me to look!!

Comments about Parkwood PW310M Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

you have to consider this if your looking for a dreadnought mine is loud the notes are clear the intonations right on I've had it for one year and the dynamics of sound are becoming broader. The materials alone are worth the money. It does not play like a martin or a taylor the differance is the entire guitar doesn't vibrate.but it also doesnt jangle when you back up some picking with a barr chord. Original head stock original bridge original rossete beautifull back stripe and bridge pins.with scallopped x bracing straight grain mahogony spruce top that looks more like the spruce on the 50's martins then modern martins if you want to get a good instrument here it is.i love the sound of martin and taylor but i'd bet this would out do either recorded or an unplugged acoustic jam its got wonderfull volume and tone thats controlable im not saying it's the best but if ihad to choose one guitar for life this is what it is a well built instument for a fair price i might get a taylor or martin but i'll keep this one to

Parkwood Dreadnaught

By Micheal W. Engelmeier

from Flora, Illinois

Comments about Parkwood PW310M Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I have been a musician for over 40 years and have many name brand basses and guitars. I read the reviews on the Parkwood flat top and I was impressed with what was said. I have never heard of this brand of guitar but, after playing it I knew that the reviews were correct. It plays and frets as good as any high priced name brand that's out there. This guitar plays like a dream and has a great tone to it. I'm glad I took the time to read some of the review when I was shopping. It was a chance I took and have been rewarded for. The action needed nothing, it was in tune and ready to play right out of the box. It is quality at a very affordable price. I saved hunreds of dollars on my purchase and received hundreds in craftsmanship and playablity.

Amazing

By Chris

from St. Pete FL

Comments about Parkwood PW310M Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

This guitar is hands down the best deal anywhere. The tone is superb. The action was pretty nice and low right out of ther box, and it comes with a nice gig bag. I own a Martin HD-28V and I bought this one so I'd have a guitar to take outside to the beach, ect. without having to worry about a scratch or ding. The satin finish is easy to care for. I was amazed that the tone is equal to guitars 3 or 4 times the cost.

Amazing

By Myth

Comments about Parkwood PW310M Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I purchased one of these after going to GC to buy a Gibson Songmaker Series DSR Dreadnought. After playing the Gibson I also played numerous other instruments in the GC showroom. After 2 hours in the store, trying many, many different acoustics I was left with two instrument that sounded the very best, had the best action and had very good volume. The Martin HD-28 and the Parkwood PW310M were the last two standing and for close to 1,500 less I left with the Parkwood and am certainly glad I did. It covers high, lows and the in-betweens. If you see one of these I highly recommend you try one, I assure you that you will not be disappointed. I have played close to 15 years and I know my way around the guitar and am OCD about tone.

great guitar for the money

By rotor

from NOLA

Comments about Parkwood PW310M Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I don't have too much experience with guitars, but everyone that I show my new Parkwood to loves it. It's a good looking guitar and the quality appears to be on par with more expensive brand names. The tone is excellent, and it has quite a lot of bass. Worth mentioning: the price includes a gig bag, which is of great quality and looks very good. This guitar is better than the Epiphone and the Yamaha I previously owned. For what it's worth, I owned a Breedlove for awhile, and I feel that this guitar is just as playable, if not more.

guitar enough for me.

By marty

from spokane wa

Comments about Parkwood PW310M Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

For the money its a steal, have had mine two years now, still sounds great. Good build quality, solid construction, I agree with other people who have compared this with martins. I bought my nephew a martin, this sounds as good if not better - plus its built well enough to take abuse from my toddler. I have also owned/played yamahas, gibsons and guilds. This is guitar enough for me.
