Utterly Unique!

By Casey

from Charleston, IL

Comments about Parker Guitars Fly Artist Guitar:

This guitar is astounding. It can go from purring kitten to rip-your-throat-out savage beast in the flick of switch. For the money, this is THE MOST VERSATILE GUITAR ON THE PLANET. The body is spruce, backed with carbon fiber resin. That gives the guitar a great acoustic voice (the carbon fiber interlocks with the wood fiber through the resin to increase sustain and tone). But the pickups are chameleons too. They can go from warm and jazzy to sharp and spunky, to thick and meaty, just by turning some knobs. Oh, and it only weighs about 4 pounds, so you can play for hours and hours and hours... which is good, because when you buy this, you won't be able to put it down.

My Parkers and I

By Santamorena

from Miami Beach

Comments about Parker Guitars Fly Artist Guitar:

I confess, Iۡm a Parkerۡs lover. I was introduced to this beauty a few years ago. I was desperate, looking for a new guitar, building a new sound and a new look. I tried all electric models but the weight was a big issue for me so one day a entered in a Guitar Center store and she was there, alone waiting for me. The store clerk plugged it for me and even though the physical side was a little far from what I was looking for, I tried it and I definitely fell in love, for the powerful sound and also for its extraordinary lightness and ease to move with it. I wonۡt talk about the technical details because the most important thing for me is the sonic result and the complicity you can get from your instrument, so the final result was that the following year I got another Parker but that time it was a nylon string and since then we are three fighting for our musical dreams. Try it, it's like us women, frail but energetic and sensual to steal your heart!

Love 'em

By Jake

from washington, D.C.

Comments about Parker Guitars Fly Artist Guitar:

I love parker guitars, and this one is no different. The parker fly shape, though not the most beautiful, is comfortable and incredibly light. The neck feels incredible and the DiMarzios sound great on almost any setting. I wouldn't go chugging away in drop Z flat tuning with the gain set to 11 or anything, but it will handle most styles pretty well. I can't say enough good things about these guitars. Go to your local GC and try one out.

re invent the wheel

By Samparker32

from NY

Comments about Parker Guitars Fly Artist Guitar:

I have owned the parker fly for a few months. I don't have this exact one, but I have the original this is based off, actualy made by Ken Parker himself, so it is older better and has more value. However I played this and it is really the same guitar. One solid piece, and super fast neck is great. Like an SG, but weighs wayyyy less, and faster neck. It will make a strat feel as heavy as a les paul custom! Great for stage and standing for a while. If you sit down though, do not get it, it will prove to be uncomferatble to an unhealthy degree. The acoustic pickups work well, and once you have it maped out, its a fun guitar. Personaly I would rather have a Gibson any day, for that money, but older folks might like this. I have showed it to some proffesionals, and they love it. I am only a young lad, so I am classic, the parker is artistic and new. good luck to those buying it. You can call parker, they answer your questions very well!

cool guitar

By GuitarSam-kXmzR

from Columbia

Comments about Parker Guitars Fly Artist Guitar:

sounds like a gibson, sounds like a strat, (bridge and led pickup) sounds like a strat out of faze. doesn't sound like a tele. can mix acoustic with mag to get some really cool sounds. to small to sit in recliner and practice stuff end up picking over the 24th fret. cord that comes with it is cheap molded plugs. you would think on a guitar this price they could do better than that. I've had mine for 4 months and the switches are already getting durty and scrunchie. love the way it plays though, you can feel the notes vibrating thru the body, how many other electrics can you say that about. if it were lost or stolen i would buy another.

Possibly the best guitar on the market?

By YYZRules

from Philidelphia, PA

Comments about Parker Guitars Fly Artist Guitar:

I have many guitars, from Ibanez RG's to Harmony Rockets and everything in between, including the standard Strats and LP's, and several US Hamers, which I consider to be top notch. This guitar first caught my eye because it was made from Sitka Spruce, which is a popular tonewood in classical and acoustic guitars, but not usually electrics. Here, Parker has managed to pair it beautifully with the right hardware. The piezo sounds great with the right setup, and all the parts are very high quality. The neck is super fast and makes playing so easy and fluid its unreal. They are one of the most innovative guitars today and possibly the best guitar on the market.

WOW!

By allwaes plae

from Bay Area, CA

Comments about Parker Guitars Fly Artist Guitar:

This guitar is so light , so fast, and so full of tone, if you've got the $$$$, you will NOT regret it. LIKE NO OTHER YOU'VE EVER PLAYED! For the barcord metal monster, this may not be your thing, due to it's light weight and thin neck. For everyone else, it's perfection wrapped in glass. Sadly, my Strat and Martin just sit and listen to me and My Parker.

spruce artist

By Drew-a-D4V

from Boston

Comments about Parker Guitars Fly Artist Guitar:

The Artist is the best sounding of all of the Parkers. The sitka spruce tone is amazing. The hardware setup on them stays in place so well, once they are set up, they never need adjustments! Insanely easy to play.

I don't know how ANYONE can hate this guitar

By Bob Martin

from Rochester, NY

Comments about Parker Guitars Fly Artist Guitar:

Having read the other review, I have to wonder whether or not that person ever played a Parker Fly Artist - or any other Fly. These are THE BEST!!!! Sound, playability, looks, everything. Comparing it to Ibanez is kind of a joke. This is the most important electric guitar since the first Teles and Les Pauls....
