The Paiste Twenty China Cymbal is a classic Chinese type cymbal with definite oriental attributes and a touch of mysticism. Delivering a wide range and complex mix, it's suited for any style of music from rock, funk to classic percussive settings. Soft and comfortable feel, quick attack.

Introduction: 2007

Background: The continuous search for new ways to create cymbal sounds from manually malleable metals has taken Paiste back to the primal and archaic sound energy of traditional CuSn20 bronze. From such alloy the Twenty series is made of and combines the Turkish ancient knowledge with the Swiss precision and time-honored methods. A symbiosis, a completely new blend of sound character

Innovation: To create cymbals of true and dignified quality for highest demands of professional drummers and percussionists

Alloy: CuSn20, also know as "Traditional Bronze"

Quality: Professional

Production: Manual craftsmanship exclusively. Hand alloying, hand hammering, hand lathing. Proprietary manufacturing methods

Applications: Medium soft to loud settings. Live and recording. Pop, Blues, Soul, Rock, Jazz, Big Band, R&B, Country, Acoustic Music, percussive settings, classical applications and Latin styles.

Users: Professional drummers, recording artists, studio owners. Sound enthusiasts and collectors.

Sound: Warm, broad, deep, sparkling, dark, oriental, trashy, bright and forceful. Paiste China cymbals produce a certain raw and untamed sort of a mystical force, yet with the harmony, balance and consistent quality that is a Paiste trademark for decades.

Comments about Paiste Twenty Thin China Cymbal:

First of all, I bought this China because the sound just caught my attention. I was in GC, trying some Chinas and this was by far the best China there. It is very loud, but if you're in a group it's ok while everyone plays. It has just an amazing sound, no matter how you place it, it has the essential sound that a China must have, but in all cymbals I recommend you to first try them in a store or listen to them , whether if you have listened or not to this cymbal, and you need a China, this is the one. (All of my other cymbals are Sabian and the China sounds amazing with them) I hope it helps.

The perfect China!

Comments about Paiste Twenty Thin China Cymbal:

I've spent a lot of time looking for a China that had a certain sound to it (and I had a couple samples in mind from songs I love), and after trying out a few at my local Guitar Center, I came across the 18" Twenty Thin. This baby is AWESOME! Very loud, "wet" sound with a hint of gong like all good Chinas. Seriously, this is one loud cymbal, so keep that in mind when you figure out how it will fit into your drum kit. For comparison, I also have a Sabian 18" HHX which is more like a crashy China than this Paiste. Very sensitive cymbal that definitely makes its presence known when you play it!

Great value!

Comments about Paiste Twenty Thin China Cymbal:

Given the price point for a B20 thin china, I had to check this out. So, I started on the Paiste site to listen to the sound files. Granted, every cymbal sounds different in person, but it gives you a good idea if it's the general sound you want. It was, so I then went to GC to play one for myself (made sure they had stock first). It was fantastic, but then I noticed a hairline crack where one of the hammer marks was so they had another brought in from another location. It didn't sound as good, but I bought it anyway. The first one opened up really nicely. The second one not as much -it has less hand hammmering for what it's worth. For a 14" cymbal, it's rather dark, more like an 18". Not overly loud like a Wuhan. Overall, I'm very happy with it, but may add a few rivets to it. So, bottom line, great cymbal for the money. Highly recommend you play it before buying (you should do this with all cymbals), and while it was likely a freak thing, look closely by the hammer marks for any cracks. Oh and one last bit, take advantage of this price while you can as it looks like Paiste dropped this line, and that is likely why GC got such good pricing on it.
