OK, so it didn't cost allot of money and Mr Famous doesn't use one it still sounds great. Very pleasing tone quality. Just the right amount of wash and doesn't run away into white noise like so many crash cymbals do. Forget the "for the money" bit, I like this crash better than most at twice the price.

This crash WAS a good cymbal. I first had it in 2009 and I loved it, until it cracked two years later in may of 2011. I had a warranty and recieved a new one in june. The sound was awful, and was not the same as the old one. Just today i cracked it,I cracked this one in 5 MONTHS, as opposed to 2 YEARS. If you are a serious player do not get this, if you are a beginner then yes, I do not recommend this cymbal for hard hitters either.

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Thin Crash:

I purchased the 14 inch crash recently and for the price you cant beat it. I am a gospel drummer and this cymbal sounds lovely inside the church. Fast response and not alot of sustain.

Great Cymbal for a Great price

By sam

from vienna, va

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Thin Crash:

I purchased this cymbal as my second crash a few weeks ago. The 16' cymbal is absolutely awesome. It has a lot of sustain and control. MUCH better than the pst 3's, b8's, or ZBTS in my opinion. If you're on a budget, buy this cymbal.

WOW

By Grungerocker

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Thin Crash:

This cymbal is a BEAST. i have the 16" and 18" and they're clean, crisp, loud and it cuts through! And for the price you couldn't ask for more. Better than any B8's or zht's in my own opinion. In fact Paiste could raise the price by quite a bit and these cymbals would still be worth it! They sound professional. If you are thinking about buying one of these don't second guess yourself because these were a great buy!

Wow!

By Jus

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Thin Crash:

Ok, i bought this bad boy at the Guitar Center Outlet, and the dude working there put A PST 5 18in thin crash and a Ziljian A Custom 16in crash next to each other. And i hit them both. They sounded almost exactly the same. Id call Paiste the Epiphone of cymbals! Same quality and sound as the expensive Ziljians for half the price.

Great Cymbal

By Taylor

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Thin Crash:

I have two of these thin crashes (16" and 18") and they have a great sound to them and never cracked. I play hard music so I hit hard. Great projection and can be used for many music styles. I definitely recommend this cymbal.

BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!5star!

By Collin

from Mattawan, MI

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Thin Crash:

I am happy that i bought my 18" Paiste 5 thin crash cymbal. This cymbal, when i first hit it, the sound emitted from it just made me want to cry. it has a glorious bright tone, a shimmering, brilliant finish, and none of that gross ringing and decay you get with Zils, Sabians, and other entry-level cymbals. i have a friend with a 18" Zildjian A custom and my paiste beats it by far! Since it is a thin crash, you might get thrown off thinking that it will break easily. but the flexibility and the way it is made to bend when hit keeps the cymbal in it's shape. i play everything from stuff from Hillsong United to Devil wears prada and more and it'll fit most music styles. now the price might be a little high for what you would call an Entry-Level cymbal, but it's definitely worth it

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Thin Crash:

The Paiste PST 5 thin Crash is a pretty decent cymbal. It gives a very full crash sound. It does so using excellent volume. This cymbal even looks astonishing. On top of all of that, it is backed up by Paiste's well known quality. You can't lose with this cymbal.

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Thin Crash:

The Paiste PST 5 Thin Crash is one that will be known in Paiste history. This crash is affordable, great sounding, and has the looks that all drummers want to have. It's especially good for a beginner who wants something that has good quality, but not too pricy. You should take some money out and buy it!

AMAZING!!!

By jason

from san diego, california

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Thin Crash:

this is the best cymbal out there for the price. i am a metal drummer and i have 2 other crashes (18" sabian xs20 and 16" zildjian zxt both medium thin). both of them were very low pitched which was great for metal but it didnt complete the set. this 14" crash makes everything PERFECT. i am using a pacific 805 set with 24" bass drum and the remo roto toms. for cymbals i now have 3 crashes (14" 16" 18") 2 sets of hi-hats (13" and 14") 2 splashes (10" and 12") a 20" ride, and a 16" china. all i need is a zilgjian zil bel and it will be finished!!! buy this cymbal if you need a higher pitched cymbal. i would not reccomened this as a main crash though. it is great because unlike zildjian zbt's and sabian b8's, this does NOT have the annoying ring at the end that makes it sound tinny and cheap. buy it.

great crash, but not for me

By theater 92

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Thin Crash:

i got the 14 inch crash last year from my christmas money, and while it is a good durable thin crash, its just not the sound i was looking for, i like the more dark trashy crashes now, this one is a musical crash, and plus im a sabian guy, and ill be getting the rocktagon to replace this, but a very good crash, but just the sound i was looking for

A Decent Cymbal

By Alec Stenerson

from Rockford Il

Comments about Paiste PST 5 Thin Crash:

I was very exited when I bought this cymbal (18 in.), it has a good tone and it fits the style of music i play. But unfortunately after a year of playing on it i found a crack in it. The cymbal is very well sounding until any damage is done. Than it just sounds terrible.
