The 18" Paiste PST5 Medium Crash is a pretty good cymbal. It has a quick decay of a lower end cymbal though. Although they are made with the same alloy as the 2002, they should not be mistaken for them. When I purchased this cymbal it was to fill a void as a practice cymbal so I am happy with the cymbal for the price.

Solid but nothing special

By Scott Richardson

from Maryland

I bought this crash used off Guitarcenter 8 months ago. Once i cleaned it, WOW. This cymbal looks freakin awesome. I love to keep it clean just because it looks so much better. No cracks and very little stick marks stay on it. Even being used, it is in great shape. The sound is what keeps it from being 5 stars. It just doesnt blow me away. It sounds better louder, but its just good not great. If you are going to get a "big" crash in this price range, you should probably go with this, but there are plenty of better ones out there. Final Thoughts: I bought this for used and it has held up great and was a fantastic value for the money.

Paiste pst5

By Michael Gaffney

from Greensboro NC

Piaste has done a great job. These cymbals are relatively low in price, but have an awesome sound. I first purchased a paiste pst5 16" rock crack, it is really good looking, sound is good but the repsonse is a little annoying if you really pay attention to it. Right now I own a 18" paiste pst5 rock china, pst5 medium thin hats and a 14" thin crash. These cymbals will NOT dissapoint you, at all. Great looks, great sound, mostly good stick response and overall in my opinion the best bang for your buck of any cymbal out there.

Great Crash Great Ride

By GEORGE JOHNSON

from New York City, NY

This is a good value. I bought this to have a larger crash. To my delight and also has a light sweet ride sound. I gig out with this one, next to my K custom ride. An excellent cymbal for the price AND made in Germany! highly recommend and would buy again.

great cymbal

By jack

I've had this cymbal for a year and no problems yet. It hasn't warped the slightest bit, and i am a hard hitter. It has pretty good sound. The bell is amazing and you cant find a better crash for anywhere around the same price. I would recommend it to any and all types of music

great practice cymbal or entry level.

By Dan Kawka

from Naperville, Illinois

my ranking and my title may sound as though they disagree, but they don't. This cymbal is a great cymbal if your getting into drumming and aren't sure how much time you can commit. its very durable, loud and glassy. however it does sound nearly exactly the same as the pst 5 ride which is my only complaint.

Excellent Sound @ any price

By Anthony

from Elizabeth City N.C.

I've owned Paist Cymbals on my last 2 set, both Signature and 2002 Series. I recently purchased the PST 5 series, 14" rock hi hats, 16" and 18" medium crash and 20" rock ride. You will not be dissapointed in these cymbals. The sound quality is awesome and they carry extreamly well. Give them a try. Their worth alot more than you'll pay.
