These hats are a huge bargain if rock music is your genre. They don't produce delicate sounds for jazz or disco. You have to hit them with effort, but they will reward you with the perfect sound for loud rock. The color of the alloy is unique to the Alpha line, so they will stand out if mixed with other cymbals. I use nylon tipped sticks which leave marks that seem to show more easily than cymbals that have more aggressive lathe lines, so I find myself cleaning my Alphas fairly often. The five star rating is not for the sound they make, because cymbal sound is completely subjective. These are quality cymbals that look fantastic, are heavy enough to last a long time, and are affordable. The bonus is they sound great to me. In the years to come, I'll probably replace my Alphas with Paiste 2002's as I can afford to, but these hats will be the last to go.
