This Paiste Alpha Rock China features a brilliant finish with a bright, full, and aggressive character-with a trashy edge. It has a medium range, and a fairly clear mix, making it a very strong and powerful China cymbal for all musical applications in louder playing styles.
Alpha cymbals were first launched by Paiste in 1992. Today, the Alpha brand is synonymous with dependability, and the cymbals are well known for their first-class sound and fair prices. The Alpha Series is now available in a Brilliant Finish, once again advancing these trusted qualities.
The new brilliant look is accomplished by skilled craftsmen who hand polish the cymbals to a mirror perfect finish in the final production stage. Prior to that, top-notch hi-tech processes give Alpha cymbals their initial shape and strength. They are further enhanced by traditional hand-hammering.
Alpha cymbals have become very popular among professional artists, especially in rock and metal. Working with such drummers, Paiste developed new models to expand the arsenal available for players in these genres.
Alpha cymbals have developed a strong following in recent years and are today endorsed by numerous working drummers all over the world, such as Jeremy Spencer of Five Finger Death Punch, Jason Sutter with Chris Cornell, Dave Witte of Municipal Waste, Tommy Portimo of Sonata Arctica, and Steven Spence of Black Tide.

I purchased this about a month ago at my local guitar center and I must say, its a great china, not very trashy and is very loud. not to many overtones and it looks fantastic but ill admit i have played better. but for the money its great!
I bought this cymbal yesterday, having pretty high expectations. I love Paiste, and I was thinking a China produced by them would be great. I was very wrong! After putting it on my set, I really thought it was gonna sound amazing; It looked so nice. I played on the cymbal for a couple minutes, and it was just unacceptable. Extremely slow decay, and resonates with an annoying tone. The very first time I hit it, I knew it wasn't what I was hoping. After a few minutes, I found it was the exact opposite. I went back to the store, and traded it in for a PST 5 18 inch, which sounded MUCH better, at a lower cost! It's perfect for what I need. If you are in need of a great china at a pretty low cost, avoid this one and go ahead and get the PST5.
i can't stand this china the tone it produces is horrible it rings forever and has terrible overtones the only up side to this china is its pretty durable i wail on mine pretty hard and it hasnt dented or cracked
These new alpha cymbals are beautiful and they would look amazing on a set but its a shame that they dont really sound up to their appearance. This china isnt washy enough, the sustain lasts forever and overall they have a bad quality sound. But thats my taste, the cymbals you put on your set is entirely up to the player's taste. I really love Paiste but they can do better than this.
