Comments about Paiste 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hats:

So I have played drums for over 30 years. I have been a studio musician and I currently play in a blues band. I have to say that after playing pretty much every major brand and model of hats that these 2002's are amazing. I have been playing these for a couple years now and for me they are all that a set of hats should be. I play the 14's. They have great focus and cut and with a good hat stand you can really use these hats for the most complex nuanced playing with great ease. They are heavy and built to last. These hats fit beautifully into many musical styles from jazz to funk to blues to metal, they perform well. Also they are just as great in the studio as they are on the stage. After switching to the 2002's my recorded hat sound is much more crisp and well defined. They have a great sound when just using the pedal too. Being in a blues band, I spend a lot of time on my ride cymbal and when using the pedal for a chick it comes through clear where a lot of others are lost in the mix. I really can't say enough about these cymbals. The price is not cheap but they are high quality and they will last. I purchased mine in store at Guitar Center Winter Park, Fl. They had them in stock and as soon as I played the first few strokes I knew that these had to be mine. I played Z K's for a long time before these and really these are the best hats I have ever played. Highly recommended to any serious drummer and especially to drummers who play live and in studio. Seriously, you will love these cymbals. 2002 Sound Edge 14'' hats will rock your socks off!

      LOUD!!!

Comments about Paiste 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hats:

These are great hi-hats: they have a nice sound when you ride them, a good solid chick sound when you close them. The only thing is: They're really loud, and they cut through everything, so if you play a lot of quieter songs, these will stick out a lot. Don't get me wrong - these hi-hats are awesome, but for what I have to use them for, they are a little bit too much. Overall, a great choice for louder music though.

      Best hats ever!

      By XVXTheninjaXVX

Comments about Paiste 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hats:

I recently purchased these hats as an upgrade from my budget-bought pst5 medium hats. These are so much better. I have played on signature sound edge, z-a custom masterdound, 2002 wild hats, and many other hats. These beat them in every way possible. You can get the sound of an open hi hat while they arepart way open but still touching and get a perfect sound without the 2 cymbals clanking together. When closed tightley, they have a nice chick that sounds somewhat sizzly. They cut through all the instrument and drumset noises. Hands down best hats ever. GO PAISTE!

Comments about Paiste 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hats:

Wow these hats are amazing had to get used to the sound because of the size but once I did I love them they are crisp and loud which is what I was looking for. These hats blew me out of the water when I record with them a couple weeks ago. Simply Amazing! As far as price goes you wont find quality and size for any cheaper. So I highly recommend these hats

      Paiste 15" 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hats

      By Jeffrey Payne

      from Madison, WI

Comments about Paiste 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hats:

I gotta say, These cymbals are the finest hi-hats my money can buy. The differences between 14" and 15" are indescribable. A hard, cutting sound that is not muddy, but very sharp, cutting thru any type of music you can play. The "chick" sound is biting, and crisp. No traditional "clangy" sound here. you can effortlessly underplay, and still project the nuances you work so hard to achieve. Not designed for head bangers, but for the player with a degree of finesse in his or her playing. No need to bash, these cymbals can be heard for miles. Just remember John Bonham, he used them.

      Great!!!

Comments about Paiste 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hats:

These things can take a pounding. I've used what other people call the 'best' from other companies like Sabian. But once those broke, I decided to go with what many greats used, such as Bonham. (I have 14" hi hats, and Bonham used 15") and let me just say, the sound was exelent!! Very crispy. And they have lasted over triple the time my AAX's AND my AA's lasted. And I also like the sound a bit more. A great buy!!

      Great hats heavy players

      By rOsas RojaS

Comments about Paiste 2002 Sound Edge Hi-Hats:

I own the 15 inch hi hats and I will say it does take time to get used to them due to their difference in sound but seriously this hi hats are amazing for rock/punk/funk and above. THEY ARE NOT INTENDED FOR SOFT PLAYERS! If you are loud on your set and you want something to last.. PAISTE is the answer for you!
