their amazing

Comments about Paiste 2002 Crash Cymbal:

over the last 4 years i have used zildjian, meinl and sabian and they've all cracked within six months of me using them. 2 years ago i started to use paiste to see if they were any different and the first thing i noticed was the quality in sound. after this i was just praying that they would last longer before they cracked and they came out 10/10 in the strength. i only get paiste cymbals from now on because i know that they will last and the sound everytime (even i order over the internet) is the best i have heard so far. basically PAISTE RULE!!!!!!!

2002 crash 17"

By Nick

from El Paso Texas

Comments about Paiste 2002 Crash Cymbal:

This crash is what a 17" crash cymbal should sound like. When struck hard it creative an explosive amount of colorful overtones which accompany other cymbals nicely! On lower levels of intensity for ballads this cymbal peaks but at a lower intensity giving it more shimmering sounds and lush overtones. When contantly struck it sounded like a mini ride cymbal and was really bright high overtones. Durability is great had it for 3 years now not a dent or crack on it. On a recording it sounds even more awesome as to where placed just right the mics catch it's true beauty!

Paiste cymbals

By Sean

from Cherry Hill NJ

Comments about Paiste 2002 Crash Cymbal:

Paiste cymbals are the best. They don't crack like zildians do and they have a better sound than zildian and sabian cymbals. You have to get these cymbals!!!

If they only knew...........

By Stick Medic

Comments about Paiste 2002 Crash Cymbal:

Paistes are in my opinion the best. The other manufacturers have their place. It is about choice. I choose Paiste. I have had Older style Alphas, 2002's and Signatures over a long period of time. 2002's were developed to be heard over amplified music. Back in the early 70's these are what everyone wanted to play! Not only that, the look of the cool upside down China was what everyone wanted. Even if they never hit that thing, everyone wanted one! Over the years of buying kits and new cymbals of different types, I always come back to Paiste. 2002's have been around for a long time. They do not fail. If you break it, you can go back and buy the same cymbal again and get the exact same sound. Consistant. That is important to me. Pricing? You get what you pay for. Playing in front of people and having everything Shine is also important. These cymbals required LESS overall care than others. I do treat mine like gold, and wipe them down after playing. I treat mine like they are an investment. That is how I feel about Paiste as a whole. The Alphas are top of the line for a great price. 2002's and Signature series, none better. The Twenty Series is something worth investigating. Unbelievable!! I Love My Paistes!

Swiss consistency

By Josh

from New York NY

Comments about Paiste 2002 Crash Cymbal:

Using their proprietary bronze, Paiste has created a beautiful crash cymbal that has sounded the same since John Bonham thundered through the Led Zeppelin catalog. I Like it so much that I had an 18" model for 15 years and when it finally gave out I bought an identical model to replace it.

Paiste, Top of the Heap!!!!

By Johnny H.

Comments about Paiste 2002 Crash Cymbal:

I've been playing with Paiste's for awhile now and they are who I started with. Just like the tones and volumes in thier cymbals. I've been banging away on the Alpha series which are some great cymbals for the price, but wanted a change and bought two 2002 crashes, an 18" and a 17". I could'nt brag enough about them. Just a great overal tone ans sustain! They will stand out when you play! Now I know why Bonham chose these cymbals. They are a very versitle cymbal and mix well with a variety of other Paiste cymbals such as the Paiste Signature Prototype ride and hat's I have. Also blend in well with my Alpha thin crash. Looking for an all around great cymbal at mid level prices? You can't go wrong with Paiste's 2002 series cymbals.

best for my sound

By lliam

Comments about Paiste 2002 Crash Cymbal:

I purchased this cymbal on a whim. Turns out I love this cymbal, it has amazing crash a wonderfull decay is bright and washy but also able to be darker and crisper, but the thing I realy like is the way it cuts and blends at the same time, and the dynamics it allows, some cymbals only work for one volume but this one worked in a jazz band and then a day later in a thrash metal band. you wont regret this crash.

17" paiste crash

By Galip Sanliturk

from Pittsburgh,PA.Moon Twp.

Comments about Paiste 2002 Crash Cymbal:

To start off I am a zildjian guy and really love zildjian cymbals I only had zildjian cymbals until today.I always said that i dont really like paiste's for some reason I don't know why.It is a really nice cymbal especially the sound you get after you hit the cymbal really nice buttery sound, you can actually hear the traces of silver in the thing. If you are a guy that likes sabian or zildjian or somthing else just close your eyes and hit the cymbal, listen to it.The cymbal has this really nice flow when hit soft and is really full and bright. It blends in and cuts through the drums and says IM HERE!.Whene hit hard it's really simmery, yet really versatile. This is a very good cymbal and I still am very shoked having a paiste in my set of cymbals but I love it buy this cymbal!

By Baby Jables

Comments about Paiste 2002 Crash Cymbal:

I LOVE this cymbal!! I've tried sabian and zildjian, but that fact is that they are way too expensive and don't last that long. So I decided to tried Paiste and this cymbal def fits the bill. Brought it home and i was blown away. I have the 16" crash and it is nice and bright, has great overtones and cuts through like butter

Paiste does it again!!!

By Alex

from Rockport, Ma

Comments about Paiste 2002 Crash Cymbal:

After buying some sound edge 2002's a while back, I decided to try the 2002 crash. Good thing I did. I got the 16" crash. Explosive!!! The rolls sound great, and they take a beating. I just think that 16" is a little too high pitched for me, but I still like the sound so much, I'm keeping it. I'd get this over anything else.

Nice, classic crash sound

About Me Experienced

Comments about Paiste 2002 Crash Cymbal:

I have the 18", and it delivers a very nice, classic crash sound. In my opinion, 2002's are often hyped up and over exaggerated. Don't get me wrong: this is a 5 out of 5 cymbal, but it isn't more than what it is. If you're looking for that classic rock crash, then this is it. It mixes and matches nicely with my Zildjians, Sabians, and other Paiste. You won't be disappointed.

Comments about Paiste 2002 Crash Cymbal:

Pro cymbals are like women - they're all goddesses in one way or another but some are truly classic beauties. Such is the way of the Paiste 2002. If there is a better, mid-priced, all-round cymbal for playing pop music I have yet to come across it. I love cymbals. My fusion kit has a conglomeration of 10 plus hi hats; Sabian HHX, Soultone and Paiste. (I know it sounds excessive but if you were surrounded by 10 angels and someone suggested you had too many, which ones would you cast out? I think I've made my point.) Specific to Paiste, I own a 12" Signature splash, (awesome!) and a 2002 ride at 20" which clearly has been longing for a larger crash companion. After horse trading and scrounging I had GC send me a gorgeous new 19 incher. Nice! Really nice! From a great, full, musical crash to a delicate ping accent this baby is the perfect complement to the ride. Together they provide the foundation for my bronze family. OK - I admit the 2002's certainly don't sit atop the cymbal hierarchy but, everything considered, it's awful hard to beat them. I'm kind of reminded of the old Pennsylvania Dutch saw: "Good looks fade. Good cookin' don't."

The 2002 series is amazing, they are extra thin which means you barely have to hit them, and they are very durable, they have an amazing sound that sustains for a long time, perfect cymbal.
