  • Awesome!

As reviewed by Robert on 1/19/2009

Imagine an older sounding cymbal, warm and toasty. Now imagine that same cymbal with plenty of brightness and shimmer on the crash end. I love this ride cymbal! I guess I also love the un-refined looks. I like that dirty look. Doesn't shine in the light like a Reflector, but the sound is what makes this cymbal.

  • Beautiful Ride

As reviewed by Travis on 7/28/2011

The looks alone make this ride incredible but the tones it produces made me fall in love with it. I wanted a somewhat darker cymbal but nothing really dry and Paiste delivered with the Twenty series! The bell is my favorite. I spent a lot of hours in Guitar Center comparing cymbals and didn't find any other ride that sounded this crisp and clear. And you can crash it! It's not so heavy that it sounds like you just dropped a giant peice of the metal when crashed but it's not so light that you can't get tight tones out of riding on it. Now, I've only been playing for 7 years and this IS my first cast cymbal along with the Paiste Twenty hi-hats but after playing everything Zildjian and Sabian had to offer, Paiste's Twenty Ride, to me, is exactly what a ride cymbal should sound like. Meinl's Byzance Dark Raw Bell Ride would be another good one to look at for these kind of tones. It's completely hand hammered though so it's not going to be as refined as the Paiste Twenty.

  • Great Multipurpose Ride

As reviewed by Bill on 12/22/2010

I have the 22 inch version of this ride, and I love it. It is an overall dark cymbal, but it still have plenty of stick definition, and a bit of sheen in the top end. It wouldn't be my first choice for jazz, but I'll play just about anything else on it.
