These hi-hats are very good quality budget hats that are great for beginners and a phenomenal value overall. I replaced a set of 13" Zildjian ZBT's with 14" PST 5's and the difference is unbelievable. Granted, much of this difference comes from the especially low quality of the ZBT's. However, I am convinced that you cannot find better hats for such a low price. These play like they cost twice as much with a well defined chick and good crisp sound. They are also very good looking (as are all PST 5's). If you are looking for a low cost pair of hi-hats as your first pair or to replace a pair that you are not happy with the Paiste PST 5 medium hi-hats are the answer.
These are the best hats in the price range. They are very articulate, full, yet can be very delicate sounding at the same time. You can get tons of different tones and colors out of them. They're really great. Much more musical than Zildjian ZBT's or XHT's. Sabian XS20's sound really dull and boring when you put these next to them. Give them a try. They're good for newbies and intermediate players, or if your'e on a budget and want hats that sound just as good as ones costing twice as much. They're definately worth it.
First off, you cannt even look at the picture to see that beauty of these cymbals. They are 10 times more appealing then the picture. They have that perfect 'chick' sound & an even better open sound. I can only suggest that you go to your local music shops & listen to these hi hats. They can easily roll with the top lines of cymbals. You will not be disappointed.
