One of PRS's best-sounding guitars

By Marc

from Duluth, MN

The Paul Reed Smith Swamp Ash Special may be the best overall guitar I have ever played. One of the things that makes it stand out in a PRS lineup is its extreme versatility. The two McCarty humbuckers and SD center pickup really scream, and with the 3-way switch and push-pull tone pot, you get a full spectrum of thick and deep to high and sharp. It's the only guitar I've picked up that can come close to both Gibson and Fender tones as well as everything in between. The guitar is beautifully set up, and the locking tuners are phenominal, no matter how much you use the tremolo. I still haven't been able to find a Les Paul that will stay in tune for me, but the Swamp Ash Special is a sure bet. In my opinion, this is probably the best guitar for the money. You won't be disappointed.
