Overview

The SE A10E is the first all-mahogany guitar in the SE Angelus line up. The all-mahogany body construction of this guitar provides a controlled attack and strong fundamental, delivering a warm, woody tone with a focused, punchy midrange. This strong midrange character allows the A10E to easily find a non-competing place in a mix, making it ideal for both the studio and the stage.

High-quality components include mahogany top, back, sides, and neck, rosewood fretboard, bone nut and saddle, and PRS designed tuners. The SE A10E shares the same proprietary bracing pattern and several distinct construction features as PRS's acclaimed Maryland-made acoustic line, as well as the company's trademark bird inlays and headstock design. The Angelus Cutaway body shape is both aesthetically pleasing and provides easy access to the upper frets.

These guitars come standard with undersaddle electronics that are accessible via the soundhole with both tone and volume controls.

Comments about PRS Se Angelus A10 Rosewood Fretboard with Bird Inlays Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I ended up seeing a great deal on an 'open box' item so understand that my experience may differ from getting something brand new, but this thing was set up to the T right out of the box. The neck required a sliiiiiiiight turn which I'll blame on the shipping and cold weather, but the guitar was manufactured 18 months ago and if it hadn't been touched since then, wow! It said 'blemished' which means it's the quality that you'd get from something hanging off the wall at a guitar store; I haven't found anything that would make me think it's anything other than a brand new item – not even a pic mark.
Right off the bat: The action came as low as any guitar I've ever owned out of the box. The bone saddle is awesome and the tuning keys are great (slightly annoying to change strings since I'm used to more spacing, always been an acoustic player, but for electric players you'll feel right at home). And the thing stays in tune!
I have a few options for large music stores in the area; I checked around and not a single store in Missouri had one of these to try out. I'm a huge skeptic and said I would never buy a guitar without putting it in my hands . . . but I made the leap and I'm happy I did.
As many people have said, this thing has a FANTASTIC mid projection. If you're looking for something that has a booming base like a Martin then you're in the wrong place. This thing has a very unique tone that I can't describe well. It doesn't project like my Taylor214ce but that's something that I love about it. I prefer not to stress my vocals and I feel like this will do a great job over not overshadowing vocals if I get a little too excited and start strumming a little too hard. It's almost as if there is a natural compressor…if that makes any sense. Speaking of strumming . . . this is definitely going to be more a strumming guitar or maybe better for jazz. I tend to lean towards the blues (I know, weird if you're an acoustic guitar player) and the spacing and low action do not ma

Best playing acoustic I've owed. 1st time prs owner. Took a day to get the feel of the neck, its just different from the previous taylor or fender I owned. I like it enough to not be able to lay it down for extended periods of time.

Comments about PRS Se Angelus A10 Rosewood Fretboard with Bird Inlays Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I looked around for a while. Played a lot of guitars. The sound I wanted was in the Mahogany. The PRS had the sound, and look in my price range. The neck is comfortable. I play it almost every day. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars were because of the painted neck and fret board. Don't let that stop you from trying one out.

Comments about PRS Se Angelus A10 Rosewood Fretboard with Bird Inlays Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have had many acoustic guitars, Fender, Taylor, Gibson, I love this PRS quatily, playability and sound can't be beat. The price is spectacular, no it's not made in the U.S. If it had been it would be easily double the price. I've had this guitar 2 months and play it every day. Great buy, you can't go wrong.

          Amazing and Versatile

          By Randy

          from Wickliffe, Ohio

Comments about PRS Se Angelus A10 Rosewood Fretboard with Bird Inlays Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have had every kind of guitar you can imagine - high end, low end, all solid, solid top, all laminate. i have had Gibson. Parkers, Guilds, Martins, Taylor and even a hand made Lakewood that was an exquisite instrument. Over the years I regret getting rid of some of these but there are many that I don't. I am a casual player these days so its just for personal enjoyment. Over the past few years I have been on a mission to find a sub $1000 guitar that has it all... Great Sound, Playability, Great Looks, Made with Quality Hardware etc. I went through a Breedlove, another Taylor an Epiphone and even a Takamine - all lacked something. This amazing all Mahogany guitar has what I consider to be the best of all worlds with the least amount of trade off. First of all even high end guitars have distinct sounds and if you don't like the sound, it doesn't matter if the guitar is $10,000 or $10. It is surprisingly bright for an all Mahogany piece - its the bracing and the mixed construction that helps accomplish this. It has this super mellow quality when you play it low and hit the lower notes and then it comes alive when you attack it without getting too tinny sounding. It stands up to any playing style and because of its strong middle register it delivers full warm tone no matter what style you play. WOW. The guitar plays as close to an electric as anything I have ever touched without getting into that weird hybrid area where the guitar doesn't know if it is an electric or an acoustic - this thing is all acoustic and it never crosses the line - the playability and action is just perfect. I would never spend a nickel more on any guitar unless you were really going for some particular sound from a particular guitar. For instance some high end Martins and Gibson's are known for developing certain tones after about 5-10 years of aging. The guitars are all wood and start off in $3000 range. There are about 2% of the players in the world who can appreciate it and have the money to blow. This guitar is as good as any guitar I have owned or played at any price. This of you looking for the Holy Grail for about $500 - look no further. I haven't played the all Angelus standard - which has a solid maple top and a solid back whereas this piece only has the solid top. But, if you don't mind giving up the beautiful looks of this Mahogany piece and can live with a natural finish - I could only imagine what those guitars might sound like. They are an extra $100 but if they are any improvement on this I think they would be worth a look as well. I challenge anyone to find a better sounding and playing guitar for under $2000.
