OLE'

By kenneth sartin

from Angleton, Texas

Comments about PRS SE Torero Electric Guitar:

I own several high end guitars and refused to buy anything that was not American made. I saw a black and gray Torero on the wall at my local guitar center and decided to give it a try. I was not a heavy metal, shredding enthusiast that is until now. I loved the thin wide neck and the ebony fretboard makes for lightining quick play. The EMG's are flat nasty and are perfect for belting out the riffs on anything heavy metal. The through body fretboard and the way it smoothly blends in with the body is nothing short of amazing. The Torero is quite versitale and is capable of delivering some smooth blues notes but it really excels at heavy metal. This guitar stays in tune better than my Les Paul or my PRS Mira and both of those have fixed bridges. Tuning is easily tweeked using the small knurled tuning knobs on the end of the tremolo. The lack of fret inlays actually add to the Torero's appearance lending to the guitar a sleek clean industrial look. The EMGs have a slight amount of pickup buzz but not enough to cause a distraction. This guitar is perfect for the novice as well as a senior citizen rocker such as myself and the price is very affordble.

EXCELLENT axe

By JAMES HOPKINS

from St. Louis, MO

Comments about PRS SE Torero Electric Guitar:

Bought this guitar a few months ago. This is an EXCELLENT guitar! I play mostly rock and metal. The EMGs provide everything I need (and more). The neck is wide and flat. The ebony fretboard provides superb 'snap'; very bright. The Floyd was perfectly set up out of the box. I have the red model. Beautiful craftsmanship. Just on a personal note I would have preferred a lighter guitar but I knew this model was a bit heavier when I ordered it. The look, feel, and playability are great. You won't regret this purchase.

Awesome Quality

By Paul Candia

from Casa Grande, AZ

Comments about PRS SE Torero Electric Guitar:

I traded in an old high end Kramer for this with some doubts at first and I don't have any regrets. This guitar has been put together with all the essential elements. This has everything I ever wanted in a guitar and if I had the bucks, I would have had one custom made until I discovered that PRS finally decided to expand their market. A real Floyd Rose, Ebony 24-fret board, great sounding wood with lots of sustain and EMG 81/85. This guitar sounds great and it screams on leads. The neck feels great and has total access to the higher octaves with no restrictions what so ever. It feels smooth and fast. It came out of the box set up perfectly with .009 strings gauge. I have tested the Floyd Rose extensively and the it stays in tune perfectly. It has a good weight, balance and feels great sitting or standing when playing. I know these Korean made PRS model will never satisfy the guitar purists out there, but I am just a hobbyist guitar player that has no money and need to buy a USA made PRS. But at the same time, I didn't want another low end guitar, I wanted something that has everything and doesn't leave me hungry for more. This guitar in Royal Blue looks great, feels great, sounds great and you definitely know how the price is justified. The only things I don't like: It would have been nice to have the bird inlays on the fretboard but there are dot markings on the binding. I also play classical guitar so the the lack of markings doesn't bother me too much. Also, I think the name for this guitar sucks, bullfighter? It sounds really campy and very un-metal like. Plus for the price tag and the quallity, PRS should be providing a hard case with this, because the the gig bag provided although much appreciated that they even give you one is nice, they really should shell out a Hard case for the MSRP this guitar has.

Unlooked for solution

By Dan

from Vancouver, WA

Comments about PRS SE Torero Electric Guitar:

I had been planning on purchasing a new axe for about 3 weeks and had done quite a bit of research. I knew what my budget was and, being in a band that plays mostly heavy music, I had looked at ESP, Ibanez, Jackson, BC Rich and Schecter. I walked into the GC in Clackamas, OR and ran into a like minded sales guy named Chris. After I explained to him my wants (neck through, active pickups, Floyd trem), he immediately pointed at this PRS on the wall. I grabbed it to humor him along with an ESP I had been eyeing and went to the jam room. I tried numerous guitars but kept on coming back to the Torero. It had everything I had been looking for and then some. The action is consistent, the neck is very comfortable and the tone is great. Thank you Chris for finding me a great guitar I would not have considered otherwise.

My Favorite Axe

By Jeremy

from Windermere, Florida

Comments about PRS SE Torero Electric Guitar:

I have played guitar for six plus years now and play mostly hard rock and metal...One thing was missing from my current rig, however, was the perfect guitar (for me). Taking my time over a 5 month period, I managed to play almost every guitar on the wall from my local guitar center on the same Line 6 Spider and Bogner Uberschall. I tried to keep an unbiased opinion on brands that I currently have and just based it each guitar as if it were a new one. My sole mission was to find the best guitar regardless of price. My result ended up being a Black/Gray Torero. I simply CANNOT put this guitar down! You gear heads can read all the specs on other reviews...here's what details you'll find once you own one...The Original Floyd is perfectly set up once you buy it at the store. It's easy to make your tuning adjustment and IT STAYS once you do. There's a high quality hard foam underneath the floyd so it will not make mark the wood. All the electronics are shielded on the other side of the electronics plate STOCK. The wiring is very well looped/crimped/ziptied together STOCK. The neck-through design just gives you miles of sustain and plays SOO much easier on high end scale leads. Other PRS models have that neck joint which hinders this. The only thing I changed on this guitar is the pickups...Seymour Duncan Blackouts just blow the EMG's away (easy 10 minute install). There are standard dots on top of the neck for those wondering, because of the lack of inlays on the fretboard. Writing this review because I stayed up till 6am playing this thing!!! The Torero is making me a better guitar player!! Just buy one and thank me later.

Can't get any better than this....

By HungryMan

from NewHaven Ct

Comments about PRS SE Torero Electric Guitar:

Yet again, another monster. This guiter is a beast, it has a thin neck with neck thru-body construction, and active Emgs like my Esp. My Esp is a combo of 81/81, the Prs has 85/81, so the 85 is a cool pick up in the neck when playing clean stuff. Its a metal guitar, but its very versitile, and has great sustain as well. PRS went sick with this baby, its definitely in the building to stay.. Oh and the floyd stays in tune freaking great!!! \m/

Touring Musician Review

By Anonymous

from Tampa, FL

Comments about PRS SE Torero Electric Guitar:

I've been playing for almost 20 years now, and play regularly in a variety of venues. I have a collection of Gibsons dating back to the 1930's and a collection of Ibanez's dating back to the early 90's. I've gotten fairly used to playing on thinner necked guitars, but this guitar has a very comfortable feel to it. The fret board is excellent and the tone from the pickups is very versatile for blues, metal, and fusion style music. The weight is less than a Les Paul but more than an Ibanez RG or Fender Strat. Overall a very comfortable guitar with the ability to range 24 frets and a variety of sounds.

WOW!!!

By Bill

from Moores Hill, Indiana

Comments about PRS SE Torero Electric Guitar:

Alright some info on me then the guitar. Played for over 30 years. Have owned your regular axes,Les Pauls, Strats, Ibanez RG550's, B.C.Rich from back in the day, circa '82, so not new to guitars or music, sill have most of my guitars, though never liked the Les cuz it weighs a ton and only sounds like a Les. Wanted something that would fit the solidbody 24 fret trem setup, but who has this? PRS with the Torero! Frickin' awesome! Can't stop talking about it to friends and family!Fit finish and playability is just amazing, really. If you have the cash, run don't walk to your nearest guitar center and buy this guitar!

Have to save and get it

By Carl

from Annapolis, Md.

Comments about PRS SE Torero Electric Guitar:

I found a Torero at a semi local GC and I finally got to see one up close and play it. My impression is that this guitar is the best electric I have ever played. I thought my Custom 24 was pretty good, the Torero surpasses it. I threw everything at it to test it out and it passed with flying colors, and it didn't come out of tune. The EMG's pick up everything and the neck play is really smooth. I need to save up to buy it in Gray Black. I recommend this to hard rock and metal guitarists. The guitar I tried was dropped tune to D and sounded great. Get one for yourself.

Phenomenal!

By Josh Anderson

from Charlotte NC

Comments about PRS SE Torero Electric Guitar:

So my dad is going to get me a new guitar for me because I am entering our schools jazz band. I have been trying out many guitars latley, but none have really stood out as great. One day, I found this guitar and picked it up. WOW! It felt perfect! I tried my fast soloing and it accompanied it perfectly! I tried chords and they were great, but soloing is better for this guitar. I think it is definitely worth it's price. I would even be willing to throw in more for this guitar. Few guitars will get better.
