Overview

The PRS SE Singlecut Electric Guitar features a gorgeous bookmatched, heavily flamed maple veneer (on transparent-finish models) above a maple top and a mahogany back. This tried-and-true wood combination produces great resonance with bold bottom end. The PRS SE Single Cut guitar is enhanced by a wraparound stop tailpiece/bridge for direct transfer of string vibration. PRS-designed humbucker pickups turn all that resonance into nearly endless sustain. Moon fretboard inlays and natural maple top binding add a little Paul Reed Smith flair to the SE Singlecut.

I bought this Guitar 5 months ago.I still reach for this guitar first over any other I own. My friend has the Mccarty and it is one of his favorites. The other night I let him play my SE Single Cut and it nocked his socks off. I think he was trying to justify the 1K difference in price he paid. The pick ups are well balanced the sustain is graet, the tonal highs and lows are fantastic. This is not the american made PRS but it will blow you away. Dollar to performance ratio = 10+. Be carefull, because your gonna want one!

Thank you Mr. Smith

By Heinz Dziurowitz

Comments about PRS SE Singlecut Electric Guitar:

Like my title say's, thank you PRS for making a budget guitar that blows away most of the big name brands. This thing might have been made overseas but the quality is top notch. I own the Singlecut in white, it is a beautiful and superior playing guitar. This is my third SE model, I also have the discontinued SE EG ( Strat Killer) and Soapbar ll, all excellent guitars. I have around 60 guitars give or take and the SE line are among my keepers. Most of the time I have to do a lot of set-up work to get a guitar the way I like it. None of my PRS guitars needed no more than a few minor tweaks to the truss rod and the bridge to suit me, a ten minute job. The pickup's are keepers, the only change I did was to install an audio pot for the tone to give me a better sweep but that is a personal preference. Between me and the guy I do two man gigs with we probably own over 100K worth of guitars but he like myself are blown away by the quality of these imports, he owns a USA made CE 22 and can't believe how good the SE's are. The wide fat neck's are a perfect fit for me. I own some very nice vintage Gibson's and they are sweet, but my PRS SE's get a lot more play time. I will be getting a nice USA made PRS when I find one that really blows me away, but until then I am really liking my SE's!!!

Great Guitar!

By Chris

from Cincinnati, OH

Comments about PRS SE Singlecut Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar about a month ago for my birthday, and I haven't been able to put it down since. I previously played a 1981 Gibson SG, and I have to say, this even beats that out! The fretboard allows for greater speed as well as accuracy (the bigger frets and neck suit me better). The guitar is very versatile and is perfect for classic rock, blues, metal, or whatever you want to play. It plays great through my new effects pedal and my Marshall amp.

AMAZING Guitar

By Michael

from Sumter,SC

Comments about PRS SE Singlecut Electric Guitar:

I traded in my old Ibanez RG for this SE. Was going to get a Schecter Hellraiser and walked out with the PRS instead. My other guitar is a Schecter BlackJack C1, which is amazing also. I have never played a high end PRS so I have nothing to compare the SE to in the PRS line, but I am very pleased with every aspect of it. The pups sound amazing and honestly have a little more clarity than my SD JB/'59 in the Schecter. Maybe there's something else going on there, but I pick up the SE exclusively to play blues and clean stuff. The bridge pickup really smokes it for drop D material. I have a BlackStar HT5 combo amp and the SE really has a pleasing tonality to it. For the frogs, this guitar is such a great purchase and I imagine that the resale value would hold or increase...but I am not selling it : ]

Excellent Pick

By Amy

from Blairsville, Pa

Comments about PRS SE Singlecut Electric Guitar:

My husband & I took my son for his 13th birthdy to buy an electric guitar. Although, we had a few in mind, nothing sounded better. As soon as he started to play this one in the store, we knew it was the one. It sounded great and was easy to hold and play. Excellent sound.. Excellent price - and we couldn't be happier...would highly recommend this guitar.

Great "everything" guitar

By Jeremy S.

from Dallas, TX.

Comments about PRS SE Singlecut Electric Guitar:

About a year ago, I went shopping for a Les Paul or Strat as something different to play. I was disheartened by the price that even used ones were fetching. I went into GC and played a few, but wasn't overly impressed. The salesman handed me a black PRS SE Singlecut as I was about to leave. This guitar just "felt" right. Played great, sounded great, and it looked great. I walked out of the store with it, and it has become my "everything" guitar... a true workhorse. When I jam with my friends, they love playing it as well. The PRS SE Singlecut really is one of the best values there is, for all kinds of music. If your budget can only allow you to have one guitar, this will probably be it. If you can afford more guitars, you should still have this one just because you will like playing it.

What I expected

By Joe

from CT

Comments about PRS SE Singlecut Electric Guitar:

I have an SE soapbar and just purchased an SE singlecut in vintage natural this past January. Its everything I had hoped it would be for the price. Plays great, I had the neck/truss adjusted by a guitar tech at Guitar center. Other than that the pickups sound ok to me. Considering P rails but I will probably leave it stock. Awesome guitar, love it.

Amazing!

By Alejandro

from Loveland, Ohio

Comments about PRS SE Singlecut Electric Guitar:

This has to be one of the greatest guitars out there for the price. It makes me want to sit down and play for hours and hours. I LOVE THIS GUITAR!!! It looks great and feels great. It is hard to put it down. If you are looking for an affordable and quality guitar look no further. If you love the Les Paul look but can't afford one, get this guitar! Don't settle for an epiphone when you can a great guitar for a low price.

The Return of Real Quality

By Mark Rakemaker

from Independence, Missouri

Comments about PRS SE Singlecut Electric Guitar:

I've never owned a PRS guitar and the quality of the other major labels has really diminished to the point of no return, sad but true. When I was in GC I picked up the Cherry Sunburst PRS after looking at some of the other big names and I was amazed at the craftsmanship. And then I went to play it. Wow! And then I plugged it in expecting to have to swap out the pups as usual and yet another Wow! PRS: Thank you! Keep up the great work! And you'll have everyone playing your name. And fellow Shredders, watch the videos on the left hand side of the page.

Maple Flame Veneer

By Joe DeCarlo

from Cromwell, Ct

Comments about PRS SE Singlecut Electric Guitar:

I have the SE singlecut in vintage natural, the finish is amazing. The guys that work at guitar center were shocked that its an SE series. plays awsome and sounds excellent. One thing is that the nut sticks a little, when I bend strings after letting it sit overnight, they slip a bit but it should work itself out over time. 5 starts none the less. The mahogony headstock is my favorite aspect and the mahogony back looks as good as a 2k model.
