Overview

“This PRS is perfect for anyone who wants an awesome quality, versatile, rockin’ guitar at an affordable price. I love it; try it out!” - Orianthi

Orianthi has been playing PRS since 1997 when she traded acoustic for electric guitar after seeing Carlos Santana in concert in her native Australia. Less than ten years later, Carlos Santana affirmed, “If I was going to pass the baton to somebody, she would be my first choice.” Orianthi has jammed with and supported such legendary musicians as Carlos Santana, Steve Vai, ZZ Top, and Michael Jackson, more than earning her spot as a guitar great.

The 2012 SE Orianthi recieves the beveled SE carve and push/pull tone control with 3-way blade switch (previously a 3-way toggle with no coil tapping). The guitar goddess’s finish is also changing – from Red Sparkle to Scarlet Red. Case Sold Separately.

Great Guitar, but paying extra for a name?

By Bryce Martin

from Denver Colorado

All in all this guitar is fantastic! It plays great, sounds amazing, and feels like butter. I have never had any issue with a PRS before. However, my only issue with this is the price and the name on it. I love this guitar and I love Orianthi, but in reality its just a PRS SE custom 24. The main difference from a 24 custom is that this is an Orianthi signature. It only costs more because it's got her name slapped on it, I honestly could not tell the difference between the two, except the price difference. But if you were really after this axe, it truly is money well spent! Great for a good blues or rock n' roll guitar, but maybe not a good choice for a metal axe.

Shocked by the GOOD SOUND and EASE OF PLAYING

By JEFFREY MAGUIURE

from Albuquerque, NM

When I picked up my new PRS Orianthi signature SE guitar at Guitar Center I was disappointed because the guitar is made of poorly matched wood grain and the finish is a red stain, not a gloss red as I expected. Also I thought it was made in the USA but it is made in Korea. (I guess that's ok). So on the way home I was not happy. A few hours later I tried the new guitar and tuned it up unplugged. As I was tuning and strumming I became increasingly shocked by the GOOD SOUND and EASE OF PLAYING. The poor appearance of the wood grain now means nothing. I LOVE THIS GUITAR. The construction and hardware is all high quality and precision. I plugged into my Peavey amplifiers (ValveKing VK112 and Bandit 112), to me this guitar SOUNDS AWESOME -- very clean and defined, bright or mellow, cutting or smooth, very active, diverse sound compared to my old Japanese Electra guitar. And the fretboard is very fast just as Orianthi said it is. This guitar instantly increased my playing speed by at least 20% because the neck is thin and wide and the fretboard is so smooth. I have no regrets about buying and playing this guitar. It is now my primary electric guitar and I understand why Orianthi has her name on it: It is a comfortable, great sounding, fast playing guitar at a good price!
