Dave Navarro is only the third PRS artist to have both a Maryland-made and SE signature model (with Carlos Santana and Mark Tremonti coming before him). The Jane’s Addiction guitarist’s SE model boasts a beveled maple top, mahogany back, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, and SE HFS and SE Vintage Bass pickups with a push-pull tone control and 3-way toggle. His SE model will also have his signature Jet White finish and gold hardware. Navarro’s Maryland-made signature model has been one of PRS’s most popular artist guitars. The addition of the SE Dave Navarro instrument will make this model accessible to more fans and musicians. “This is a way to make my guitar available to people who turn to music and art as a way of dealing with the world. It’s my act of gratitude to other musicians out there,” Navarro explains.

I've played a Schecter semi-hollow body for years and never considered another guitar: the action, feel and play-ability was perfect. When I started playing more lead in our worship band I decided to try something else. As soon as I played this PRS model I had to have it. The wide/thin neck is a dream to play. I can't say it enough: the necks on these guitars are like no others I've tried. The action is as low as is humanly possible to get it. I was concerned about it staying in tune with the tremolo bridge but it amazingly stays in great tune: even after bending the notorious G string. The finish is beautiful. The whole guitar is stunning looking. It is lighter than a Les Paul, which is good as I have lower back problems. And the pickups are the first I have ever liked without any kind of effects: clean and bright. The push/pull tone nob splits the coils so you also have a single coil guitar. Five stars for this one!
I wanted a PRS wide/thin neck guitar as I love how the neck feels. Had bought the SE Custom 24: bright red, flame maple top. Gorgeous. But too pretty to play: I wanted a guitar I can use, scratch and not care about belt buckles. The neck action is as low as you can get without buzz right out of box. I was concerned about tremolo (had a strat once had to be tuned every song and G string intonation always off). I am amazed that the PRS stays tuned better than the Schecter I traded in, which was a great guitar. Even bending the G string it keeps tuned for a long time. Perfect finish. Looks and plays like a guitar worth twice as much. The body weight is just right: mahogany back & maple top. Not too light, not too heavy. Play the guitar without amp and you can hear the sustain. First electric I've owned that I love the sound of the pickups without any effects. Best purchase I've ever made.
This guitar looks, plays, and sounds like a dream. For the price it can't be beat! I took advantage of one of the promos and got $100 off the list price. $500 for a guitar with an MSRP of $1k. PRS is listed as one of the brands that doesn't participate in the GC Promos but if you call GC, they will honor it. Guitar also comes with a soft travel bag with backpack straps in case you were wondering. Love the bird inlays and the wide neck. Love the white & gold (classic dave navarro). If you get this guitar you won't be disappointed.
I have played a PRS at the store a while back but it was a $3000 one and eventhough it sounded awesome and felt awesome it was too much money for my budget and I waited until something more affortable came along. I have a les paul and a Ibanez xiphos but since I got the Prs SE Dave Navaro signature model I have put the other ones away. I noticed they got one in at the store and I went down to check it out, the moment I pluged in, it was heavenly. The amzing sound and smooth action seemed that it made me a better player. The price was very affortable and it seems that I can't put it down. I highly recomend it to anyone with any type of style. I myself prefer Heavy Metal and it has the heavy grunge you expect plus the clear melodic sound if you want to play clean. WELL WORTH THE WAIT, It's a well balanced very good guitar.
I bought this guitar in black a couple of weeks ago. It is AWESOME! Im still an "amateur", but I couldnt pass this one up!! The pictures do not do it justice, that gloss back with the gold hardware looks AMAZING!! I like the wide thin 24 fret neck, and the bird inlays look awesome on this guitar!
