The PRS SE Custom 22 adds a more vintage tone and feel to the traditional Custom platform. This guitar has a pronounced mid-range and clarity that provides a sweet, full tonal base, allowing it to easily sit in the mix of your band or recording. Like its 24-fret brother, the SE Custom 22 sports a maple top with mahogany back and 25" scale length. Additional appointments include dual humbuckers with a volume, tone, and 3-way toggle switch and a PRS-designed stoptail bridge. For players who grew up on 22 frets, the SE Custom 22 is a solid choice that will take anything you throw at it. Comes with gig bag.

The Wide Fat neck has the same nut width as the Wide Thin neck, but it has a deeper profile. Because of its strength and longer "heel", the Wide Fat neck produces warm tones with lots of sustain.

Comments about PRS SE Custom 22 Electric Guitar:

I've only been playing this guitar for a week, so these are my first impressions: The neck and fretboard are really easy to play. This is not a shred machine, but it's surprisingly good. (I have the "wide fat" profile neck.)

The setup on this guitar is excellent. You could play it right out of the box with virtually no tweaking. This guitar is built in Korea, but it stops off in Maryland before it gets shipped to the guitar dealer (at least mine did, the shipping labels showed this). Great job PRS!

Without a doubt, PRS's are the prettiest guitars around. If you need that, don't cheat yourself. The Korean version has excellent quality. Only an expert could point out the minor visual differences between the U.S. and Korean versions. If you're short on bucks, this is a great substitute to the real deal, made in the USA version.

The electronics are good. If you need that exact sound from that exact artist or recording, you may be disappointed, but you can go from blues/jazz to screeching metal with this guitar and most anything in between. It's rockin' the man cave so far.

This guitar has a heavy fixed bridge. The set neck is thick at the body of the guitar, so it's a bit hard to reach the 22nd fret on the top (low E) string, but the sustain and tone are noticeably better than my bolt-on Ibanez RG. It's a small compromise in playability for something you just can't get any other way.

Comments about PRS SE Custom 22 Electric Guitar:

Like many of you reading this I too am not a trust fund baby, or a doctor, or a lawyer. I cannot afford guitars in the 1000 plus range. My other guitar is a 2001 Gibson sg Gothic, so I have that to compare it to. This SE Custom 22 is middle of the road. Plays like dream, sounds fantastic. Good pickups, great finish, feels really nice in your hands! Decent hardware except the nut is cheap plastic, but serves the purpose and is cut correctly. The tuners and also satisfactory. They are made by Ping. Maybe one day these Korean guitars will come stock with a tusq nut and better pots and jacks. I upgraded to a Switchcraft jack. That is the only reason for 4/5 rating.

Seriously, for a guitar of this quality for under 1000 is a great deal. The craftsmanship is unreal. I'm proud to own this guitar. It's beautiful... the flamed maple top has nice movement and is real. The neck shape is also nice. Not too wide, not too thin. The frets were perfect out of the box as well. I might have to get another one some day... My Gibson has taken the back seat!
