Overview

The SE Alex Lifeson Thinline acoustic is a road-worthy guitar for players in need of a stage- and studio-ready instrument. Carrying over its unique appointments from the Private Stock Alex Lifeson acoustic, this model features a thinner body depth than PRS™ standard Angelus model and the œBirds in Flight inlay design.

The thinner body provides an added level of comfort for players and boasts PRS™ proprietary bracing pattern, which gives this guitar a resonance and warmth not found in some thinline models. The addition of an undersaddle pickup with both volume and tone controls gives this guitar a warm acoustic tone when amplified. As with all SE Series guitars, the Alex Lifeson Thinline acoustic is a quality instrument and a great value.

œI was very pleased when PRS presented me with my SE Angelus acoustic, a beautiful guitar of stunning quality. It was in response to the challenge of building a guitar that shared the integrity and attention to detail that the Alex Lifeson Private Stock Angelus possesses in a package more broadly accessible. The SE Alex Lifeson Thinline is that model. Carefully selected materials, expert craftsmanship and a smart approach to concept resulted in a guitar that is beautiful to look at and rewarding to play. - Alex Lifeson

Comments about PRS SE Alex Lifeson Thinline Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I was anxious to get my hands on this guitar after ordering online and waiting in line for the first issues to arrive. I am a relatively new player and liked the idea of a thinline guitar. The reviews seemed to say it had a good low end for a thinline and I have to agree! Out of the box, out of the attractive & sturdy hard case, a few minutes with a tuner and I was enjoying this great guitar. Low end is good, sustain is adequate, and it seems to hold in tune pretty well. Solid build with attractive touches all round. The electric pickup is sweet, though it seems the tone control is relatively narrow in range. For the price, this is solid PRS quality in a very comfortable, attractive and nice sounding instrument. Comments about PRS SE Alex Lifeson Thinline Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I'm a guitar hobbyist and I chose this guitar online based on the size specifications, esthetics and good reviews. I had my guitar shipped to the Danbury, Ct Guitar Center, and everyone that helped me there was great and super personable.
Once I brought the guitar home and used humidity packs in the case, the action got a little too high for me. I brought it to the GC repair shop and Scott did a great job taking the action down a bit. Scott also showed me a great way to change the battery in a guitar without completely removing the strings, because the battery that came in the guitar didn't have much life left in it. I also put that idea to good use on my other guitar right away!
The hard case that comes with this guitar is also very nice quality, with a wonderful wrapped handle for easy upright carrying, which I prefer. This guitar sounds wonderful with or without an amp, and the dao wood on the back and sides is gorgeous! I'm looking forward to years of enjoyment playing this lovely guitar!

Comments about PRS SE Alex Lifeson Thinline Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I went to Guitar Center for a cheap little headphone adapter. I wasn't planning on walking out with a guitar. I've been dropping my this location for a couple years now, and I always spend a few minutes in the acoustic guitar room. I've had a Talkamine forever that I love, but I've been half-looking for a smoother instrument in another price range (I paid $400 for my Talkamine 7 years ago). This new little guy caught my eye. First, it's gorgeous. It's not at all flashy, and has a unique, natural look. On closer examination, you notice that a lot of care went into the small design and construction details. It also immediately felt great to hold. The thin body, smooth fretboard, and close action made made it easy to forge a quick bond with this guitar. Not to mention the birds... I love those. The slightly weathered, natural look of the guitar complements them well. Most importantly, it sounds amazing - especially for a thin body. I had no experience with PRS but this thing feels like a Martin, costs way less, looks and feels wonderful, and comes with a surprisingly high quality case to boot. I couldn't walk out of the store without it. I've only had it for a couple days, though, so I'm sure I could provide a more telling review post honeymoon phase. But right now it's bliss.

Comments about PRS SE Alex Lifeson Thinline Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have owned this beauty for over 18 months now and I must say, this guitar has never let me down.

When I first bought it, I was expecting the sound to be less full than most guiars this price because it is the "thinline" model, but I was wrong. The sound of this guitar can certainly hang with some of the Taylors and higher end acoustics out there. Just a few weeks ago, I compared it to my friend's brand new Taylor that he bought for over 4 digits and the sound showed absolutely no signs of being from a lower quality guitar, despite the lower price and thinner body.

Additionally, this guitar is perfect for both talented guitarists and beginners alike. The strings have lower action, making them easier to play, but this doesn't sacrifice any of the genuine tone or playability from the guitar that experienced players like.

Overall, this is a beautiful and lovely-sounding guitar that can hold up to the standards of some of the best guitars in the 1,000s price range, but with a much more friendly price tag.
