Comments about PRS SE 277 Baritone Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar:

It's the little details that start adding up. For example, the masking that was applied to make the faux maple binding goes over and under the boundary between the mahogany and maple top layer giving it an uneven appearance. The volume and tone knob have the 10 facing straight up and when viewing from a seated or standing position, it looks like your knobs are set at 7.5. The soapbars were so close to the strings the guitar had a really ratty & raspy sound upon unboxing. Once I lowered them I was able to get an even sound, however. The nut is cut extremely tight which made tuning VERY DIFFICULT. I had to run an abrasive cord through the string grooves to make fine tuning possible. The pickup selector switch is a little floppy too.

Even with all of those issues, I love how the low weight and near perfect balance make it really fun to strap on. I adapted very quickly to the 27.7" neck which is finished very nicely and all of the frets are level with clean edges. The unplugged volume and resonance allows late night noodling which is something I never expected.

So I could add money for a proper set-up and perhaps replace the electronics. Or I could return it and try to find something better. Still not sure which way to go.
