Paul Reed Smith Guitars is proud to announce the P22, the company™s first piezo-equipped solidbody guitar. The P22 comes standard with a quilted maple top, mahogany back, mahogany neck with a 22 fret rosewood fingerboard, and a redesigned PRS/LR Baggs piezo system. PRS and LR Baggs partnered more than a decade ago to design the piezo system found in PRS™s popular hollowbody models. This new system retains the same circuit design as the existing system, giving the P22 the same tonal authenticity and real world practicality as PRS hollowbody guitars. The redesign of the board itself yielded a version that is more than 60% smaller than the original PRS/LR Baggs system, allowing it to comfortably inhabit a solidbody guitar. Uncovered 53/10 pickups round out this guitar™s specifications and help define the P22™s voice.
Piezo systems have long allowed guitarists the versatility of wielding both acoustic and electric guitar tones in one instrument. The PRS Hollowbody II and Singlecut Hollowbody II both come standard with the original PRS/LR Baggs piezo and have achieved a great level of popularity in PRS Guitars™ product line. The addition of a solidbody model will give musicians a new and unique tool to add to their own lineup. Includes case.

I have playing for a number years and several top dollar axes. This is my first PRS and will probably not my last. First off the workmanship of this instrument is absolutely top notch and second to none. This is certainly what you would expect when you drop this much money on something but isn't always what you get as was the case with the last Gibson Les Paul I purchased. The playability is incredible up and down the neck. Feels like an old friend as soon as you start playing it. I play contemporary christian rock and having the flexibility to fill a switch and go from electric to acoustic or a combination of both is truely freeing as anartist. If you haven't done so you need to go play one of these at your nearest GC.
