This Paul Reed Smith P22 comes with the Artist Package of upgraded specs. These include an artist grade flame maple top, premium Mexican ebony fretboard, select mahogany back, ebony headstock veneer with inlaid signature, ebony truss rod cover and new artist bird inlays and gold hardware. An Artist case is included.
PRS and LR Baggs partnered more than a decade ago to design the piezo system found in PRS' popular hollowbody models. This new system retains the same circuit design as the existing system, giving the P22 the same tonal authenticity and real world practicality as PRS hollowbody guitars. The redesign of the board itself yielded a version that is more than 60% smaller than the original PRS/LR Baggs system, allowing it to comfortably inhabit a solidbody guitar. Uncovered 53/10 pickups round out this guitar' specifications and help define the P22' voice.

First of all the sales price is a markdown worth the cost of a high end PRS. Unique Versatile From Hard bass electric to soft bright acoustic this is a powerhouse of seemingly unlimited tones. There is so much from its extreme artistic woods including Ebony, Insane artwork using pearl, and the only con is a little too much going so that comes with a learning curve. If you want a guitar of the finest woods resonating acoustic or blazing electric this may be the only PRS you need as it has more than I have ever seen. Not a simple grab and go- this is a sit dow and be surprised again and again. Its not a "custom" but its got a lot more going on so it is no "Regular"
