Awesome guitar

By Lachlan Willis

from Seattle

It took me a while to get it figured out (i'm a acoustic player mostly). But once I did. I love it!
Once you get it figured out, the sounds you can choose from are fantastic!
Really nicely made. Looks great, feels solid... great components.
Considering it's the same price as most strats/teles out there (American Made), you are getting a more versatile platform.

The PRS Mira

By cwisor

from Chucktown, SC

I played a Mira at a Guitar Center a few months ago. Simply put, the Mira combines vintage tone with modern upgrades (finish, knobs, neck profile). I own a PRS CE22, and the pickups on my guitar (Dragon II's) compared to Mira pickups are comparable. The Mira's bass pickup is mellow and chunky, it sounds great. I really enjoyed the treble pickup, which is tweaked to be a little more sassy and vintage than PRS's other pickups. It features an all mahogany body, which makes the guitar lightweight. I love the color options, as well as the toggle selector settings. Even though the Mira is a little less expensive than the Customs, ME's, and Singlecuts, the Mira is a star guitar (no pun intended) that will rock your world and challenge you everyday to improve. That's why I love PRS.

PRS Mira std

By yuba4

This guitar does exactly what I want, nothing more, nothing less, and stays in tune. It came ready to play and covers all the styles and tones for my music. I've been very happy with it in the two years I've owned it.

Great Guitar

By Kelly

from San Diego, California

This guitar can pretty much do everything a single coil or a humbucker guitar can do. In the single coil mode, It won't sound like a Strat, but play with the tone and amp settings and it will be close. In the humbucker mode, It will play all the classic rock songs in style. One thing to note is that when shifting from humbucker to single coil mode, the volume will drop off quite a bit so just be ready for it. Construction and hardware are of course up to any and all U.S. made PRS guitars. I have had Gibson SG's and Les Pauls and also have had American Standard,Special, Mexico made Strats and this guitar will cover most of the sounds. The pickups are really clear and just sound great, even with a small practice amp. This guitar has locking tuners which make changing strings a snap, plus this thing stays in tune. As with any guitar, try them all out to see what you like and if your looking for a guitar in this price range, try one out. I think you will be impressed. I could not be happier with thyis guitar and I sold most of my other guitars because this one will handle about anything or any type of music.

This has been a perfect guitar. Wide thin neck is like a '60's les paul, weight is more like a strat, and playability; well its a PRS! Awesome for any type of player!

The Mira has made me a believer!

By Izzy

from dallas, tx

Up until a few years ago, my knowledge of PRS products was limited. I've been playing for 45+ yrs, exclusively using, and collecting, Gibson products. When my son (16) began getting serious about playing, he urged me to investigate PRS, and his first "real" axe was an SE semi-hollow. His abilities & interests have progressed, so I recently purchased a Mira for him. A phenomenal instrument! The combination of the tail piece & mahogony body offer excellent sustain & resonance. Add the H/B pickups and the coil tap and the tone possibilities are endless, from gritty blues to warm jazz. As an "old timer", I had a hard time adjusting to the "extended" neck & the "wide/thin" concept, but soon realized their value: incredible playability! Smooth & quick, the access to the higher frets really changes out the game. Finish quality is outstanding & very pleasing to the eye. I now find myself sneaking in a few hours a week on my son's axe - this "old timer" is throughly convinced that PRS is manufacturing some of highest quality, value driven guitars in today's market.

This is an excellent guitar. The birds are a bit pricey, but I was able to pick up the floor model with birds for less than the model with moons. In general I like thin "u" shaped necks, but I find larger "c" necks to be less fatiguing. The wide-thin on this PRS is the PERFECT compromise. The build quality is superior to more aggressively priced Gibson models. The action is very low without string buzz, and the intonation is dead-on. I love the locking tuners, and the quality of the wood/finish cannot be adequately depicted in a photograph. The crowning of the frets has been done flawlessly, and in spite of the lack of binding, there are no rough edges and not a single finish flaw to mention. Surely, this is not a one-trick-pony. A MIJ ESP or Ibanez loaded with EMG's may be better for metal, but for an all around performer, exhibiting a multitude of tonal capabilities, the PRS Mira would be difficult to beat!
