Overview

Since the dawn of rock and roll, the snap and response that comes from a bolt-on neck guitar has been an essential part of the mix. These attributes have, in turn, become essential to many players trying to tell their story through music.

The CE 24 brings the bolt-on platform back to the main PRS lineup with some significant updates. The CE 24 pairs PRS’s traditional body combination of the mahogany back and maple top with a bolt-on maple neck and rosewood fretboard. The neck sports a Pattern Thin carve and satin nitro finish for a natural, addictive feel.

To further maximize the guitar’s inherent tone and clarity, the CE 24 features PRS 85/15 pickups, which Paul designed to have remarkable clarity as well as extended high and low end. The electronics consist of a volume and push/pull tone control with 3-way toggle switch for a total of six classic sounds.

The original CE was to introduced in 1988 and offered players PRS design and quality with the added snap and sparkle of traditional bolt-on guitars. Returning after nearly a decade of being out of the lineup, the CE 24 is back and better than ever.

Comments about PRS CE 24 Electric Guitar:

Bought my CE at my local Guitar Center with the 4th of July Sale, Had spent a lot of time at the store over the past few weeks playing both the CE and an S2 Custom, and the CE just kept blowing it away in every way, every time. Played them thru over 10 different amps and the CE wins hands down for sound, looks...of course with the carved top it's an amazingly beautiful guitar, but the feel and sound rivals anything i've played in the 1-2k pricerange, just pick one up, plug it in and see for yourself. The bolt on neck felt amazing, it really doesnt feel like a bolt on, very solid. If you want the 3k+ private stocks and just can't afford it, I'd highly recommend you play a ce, it feels like a PRS, the S2 and SE fall short.

Comments about PRS CE 24 Electric Guitar:

Fit and finish is flawless. I got the tobacco burst and the pics online don't do it justice. The CE 24 plays like a dream. The neck is super comfortable and the pickups are outstanding. The coil split in combination with the bolt-on neck gives it a more strat-like sound than a custom 24. I love everything about this guitar, definitely worth the price.

Comments about PRS CE 24 Electric Guitar:

I have been a Les Paul player for almost 30 years, but I always remembered an old acquaintance's pre-factory PRS that I played once decades ago. I had always wanted one, but could never afford it. I'm getting older (and the Paul is getting heavier), and I finally ponied up and bought an S2 on sale a couple of years ago; I was pretty impressed. I still wanted but couldn't afford the core 24. I figured this was the next best thing. I picked up a scratch-and-dent CE-24, which was the best I could do. Not only do I not feel like I am "settling." It surpassed my expectations. I currently have seven electrics, but this is my new #1. I am now primarily a PRS player all of a sudden. The best reason to get a PRS is the playability of the neck, and my CE practically plays itself. The unlacquered neck actually makes it feel even better. The build and pickup quality are clearly better than the S2 (which is already good). For less than the cost of a new LP studio and about the cost of an American Pro Strat, I got a beautiful guitar that I prefer to either. It doesn't have the signature tone of the LP or the strat, but in return I got a tonally versatile guitar that actually stays in tune, that doesn't bind the G-string at the nut, that has pickups that don't screech or turn overdriven chords to mud, that is perfectly balanced, that doesn't break my back (or have annoying neck-dive), that isn't hollowed out, that has absolutely no dead frets, that actually allows access to the upper frets, that never buzzes, that feels comfortable sitting or standing, that has a tremolo that actually works, that has locking tuners and no annoying string-trees, that played perfectly out of the box, and that I actually felt comfortable ordering online, even blemished, because of PRS's QC. In other words, it does what all guitars should, but usually don't. I would have liked a hard case, but that's the only negative. I still love my other guitars, but I'm glad I finally graduated to one of these.

Comments about PRS CE 24 Electric Guitar:

My first was an SE Holcomb. Returned because of tuning issues. I spent 2 hours trying out other brand guitars and still came back to the CE 24 multiple times. This guitar is solid, beautiful, and sounds great. Clean or distorted the pickups aren't muddy. Very pristine with its tones. I'm hooked on this instrument. Thinking seriously about selling all my others and buying another CE 24.

Comments about PRS CE 24 Electric Guitar:

I recently started playing again after a 7 year break. I wanted to get a new guitar to remotivate and reward myself for achieving some personal goals I had set. I cannot believe how much I enjoy playing this PRS CE24. The neck fits my hand better than the Gibson, Hamer, or Taylor T5z that I own. I love the action. My new favorite.

Comments about PRS CE 24 Electric Guitar:

I have had this guitar for a few months now and it is, as you would expect, a quality instrument The neck feels great, it is joy to play. The pickups sound fantastic - clean & crisp. The ability to split the coils gives this guitar flexibility so it sounds great for many types of music. The fit, finish, and overall quality are top notch. It is a little heavier than I am used to. The only negatives so far - the output jack should be recessed as it has rough/sharp edges and the volume control placement for me is a little too close to the pickup area. All-in-all it is a good value, a step above the S2 line for not that much more money.
