  I have played guitar for six plus years now and play mostly hard rock and metal...One thing was missing from my current rig, however, was the perfect guitar (for me). Taking my time over a 5 month period, I managed to play almost every guitar on the wall from my local guitar center on the same Line 6 Spider and Bogner Uberschall. I tried to keep an unbiased opinion on brands that I currently have and just based it each guitar as if it were a new one. My sole mission was to find the best guitar regardless of price. My result ended up being a Black/Gray Torero. I simply CANNOT put this guitar down! You gear heads can read all the specs on other reviews...here's what details you'll find once you own one...The Original Floyd is perfectly set up once you buy it at the store. It's easy to make your tuning adjustment and IT STAYS once you do. There's a high quality hard foam underneath the floyd so it will not make mark the wood. All the electronics are shielded on the other side of the electronics plate STOCK. The wiring is very well looped/crimped/ziptied together STOCK. The neck-through design just gives you miles of sustain and plays SOO much easier on high end scale leads. Other PRS models have that neck joint which hinders this. The only thing I changed on this guitar is the pickups...Seymour Duncan Blackouts just blow the EMG's away (easy 10 minute install). There are standard dots on top of the neck for those wondering, because of the lack of inlays on the fretboard. Writing this review because I stayed up till 6am playing this thing!!! The Torero is making me a better guitar player!! Just buy one and thank me later.

  I had been planning on purchasing a new axe for about 3 weeks and had done quite a bit of research. I knew what my budget was and, being in a band that plays mostly heavy music, I had looked at ESP, Ibanez, Jackson, BC Rich and Schecter. I walked into the GC in Clackamas, OR and ran into a like minded sales guy named Chris. After I explained to him my wants (neck through, active pickups, Floyd trem), he immediately pointed at this PRS on the wall. I grabbed it to humor him along with an ESP I had been eyeing and went to the jam room. I tried numerous guitars but kept on coming back to the Torero. It had everything I had been looking for and then some. The action is consistent, the neck is very comfortable and the tone is great. Thank you Chris for finding me a great guitar I would not have considered otherwise.

• PRS Torero - A Leap Forward

  Picked this up from GC ? Las Vegas. This is my second PRS SE (Custom 22) and I could not be more pleased. ThE Torero plays like a dream, very smooth and fast neck with the full two octaves at your disposal. Controls are very basic, which I like: 3-way switch and one volume and tone control. While I was a bit skeptical placing EMG?s in a PRS, they are appropriate for this guitar. They really bring out the full hard rock/metal potential. Can?t coil tap the EMGs, but I have other guitars for that. I play the Torero through a Soldano Astroverb and it is nothing short of amazing. Surprisingly clean tones if you want and ?paint melting? distortion when you need it. Quality is top notch, better than my Custom 22 SE. While I would not want the Torero as my only guitar, it is an awesome compliment. Highly recommended
