  Thus guitar is awesome. In the same league with American PRS guitars. You can spend 4 Thousand on an American but I will tell you the hardware and woods appear to be out of the PRS bin But you have to play it, the neck is fast but substantial and you can feel the body vibrate like a tuning fork. It resonates with tone. Pickups will sing your chords and the tremolo is great design and the guitar does not go out of tune. Give it a test run.

  I got this guitar eight months ago. I gig regularly with it - and I hardly ever break out my Fender Strats. My Fernandes with sustainer and my shredder Ibanez are both gathering dust. I have an old "lawsuit" Les Paul copy that is a great guitar, but it can't stand up to the Santana SE. This axe is so resonant I can get sweet and controllable feedback at moderate volume and the tone shift is quiet and distinct with the pick-up toggle. Smooth neck, perfectly finished frets. It is clearly of better value and construction than the MSRP suggests. And it's as beautiful as it's bigger siblings at PRS. Tremolo is smooth - from subtle surf vibrato to a Jimmy dive bomb - I use it for both regularly and it stays closer to tune than either of my Strats. Would I get another? Just did. My wife ordered one of the Limited Edition quilted blue ones for me. Merry Christmas to me!

• A SOLID GUITAR

  I ordered my Santana SE from another internet co. in Santana yellow. I got it and the first thing I noticed was that the gig bag is very sturdy and eye pleasing (not a hard case but pretty good). The next thing I noticed was some type of flaw in the finish. I thought it was dust on the back and sides and tried to wipe it off but to my displeasure it was some type of discoloration in the wood. Not a normal looking grain but it looked like black blotches throughout the wood. Other than that, the intonation was spot on. Two of the tuners had a lose screw on them, no biggie, took about 15 seconds to tighten them but it needs to be mentioned. The neck was smooth and comfortable to play but the 22nd fret on the high e and b was dead. The top of the guitar's finish was beautiful. I play mostly at church, clean mostly through my Custom Vibrolux. The pickups were ok (if you like to work on your gear, it's a good oportunity to upgrade the pups). They seemed to get pretty muddy on the lows and really brassy on the highs (typical for mid level and lowe end humbuckers). Over all it's a good guitar but I would say it's an intermediate level one, not for pros or someone who gigs regularly. I actually returned mine for a refund due to the finish flaw and would have exchanged it for another but the retailer was out of Santana yellow so I just sent it back. That was pretty disappointing. I will probably just save up and get a US made PRS. But if you cant't afford to do that, I say go for it. I'm sure the finish flaw was just a quality control glitch since all of the reviews I've read on this guitar are positive.
