  • $650... are you kidding me???

As reviewed by Mike Coates on 6/7/2012

This has got to be the most amazing guitar at this price. Looks beautiful and is solid as a rock. It has a thicker body than other PRS SE's and the resonance is really something to admire. The frets and fingerboard are better put together than some of my American made LP's. Really a gem of a guitar. The TONE is deep and actively "sonic." Very full and dimensional sound. I waited 3 months for it and now that it is back in stock I recommend that YOU pick one up. Get yourself a GC coupon and you can get it for less than $600 like I did. I feel like I found something that others should know about... but not too many people! I want this to stay a unique guitar that only a small, lucky group have in their possession. Overall, a quality axe in every category. For the price it is preposterous!

  • PRS SE Bernie Marsden Signature Electric Guitar Vintage Sunburst

As reviewed by Gary Flamik on 10/17/2012

After studying all the PRS SE models, and trying out one, I found this to be one of the best. First off, it is a very beautiful looking guitar. It looks like a vintage sunburst Les Paul. I like the artist series because the artist puts some time in with the builder, some more than others. I think Bernie put in alot! A few things that separate this model from the pack: This Marsden had PRS add a creme binding all around the guitar and neck, simply elegant and very smooth, and to the best of my knowledge, not on the other models. This had to cost more $$ but they kept the cost down. He also had PRS model this after his '59 Les Paul "The Beast". This has a little bit larger body and makes this PRS thicker and heavier than the other models. I think that coupled with the mahogany body and flame maple top give it a really nice tone. Also, the tuners are a vintage creme color. I also like the 245 pickups. My buddy at guitar center said they are a little better than their standard PRS SE's. When the guitar arrived at the store, I had my friend open it up. He owns a real PRS. He was really blown away! Loved the looks and had to play it right away. I also had the guitar tech guru check it out and he said it was a lot of guitar for the money. The only negatives are probably normal: Some fret buzz on the E string. PRS does include a card that says this is normal in shipping. Some truss rod and bridge tweeking needed if you're picky. Techs always recommend Grovers down the road. I must say, I love playing rock and metal and this thing has really stayed in tune when I bend the strings. Even if you get bored playing it, and you won't, it's nice to look at!

  • My #1-Go to Guitar

As reviewed by Ben Givens on 3/6/2012

I'll keep this short and sweet. I have 8 electrics, including a les paul custom, a prs custom single cut, and a prs custom 22. This bernie marsden is absolutely my favorite. It's so clear. I paid 1/8th the price of the other ones and it suites me perfectly. love it. I don't write reviews, but i felt compelled.
