Brilliant acoustic qualities in a thinline hollow electric guitar.

The PRS Guitars Hollowbody II is carved inside and out with only a small block under the bridge connecting the back and top. The Hollowbody II, PRS' most popular semi-hollow guitar, has solid mahogany rims with a solid, deeply carved flame maple top and back. With the patented PRS/L.R. Baggs Piezo System, you can plug this guitar into your PA or recording console and your amp at the same time. The piezo gives the Hollowbody II guitar a huge array of tones and simple switching possibilities. Very comfortable playing size.Check the drop-down menu to the right to select colors and/or other options.

  • Amazingly Versatile Guitar

As reviewed by Jon Purdy on 5/21/2010

I love this guitar. The neck is as good as you'd expect from a PRS; well-finished frets and superb intonation. One undocumented extra with the Piezo option is the special bridge/tailpiece with adustable saddles, guaranteeing perfect tuning regardless of what gauge strings you use. While the guitar itself is light, well-balanced, and superbly finished, the icing on the cake is the piezo pickup. This is custom designed for PRS, and is the most natural sounding piezo I've had the pleasure of using. It sounds so much like an acoustic that I've stopped taking my Taylor to our live shows. There are plenty of options - you can switch between electric and acoustic sounds, or you can play both at once, using the third knob to blend the tones. For connections, you can either run a mix of both, using one cord, or you can use the second jack to run two cords - one to your acoustic amp or the board, and one to your regular guitar amp. All in all, an excellent guitar capable of a wide range of tones, covering anything from acoustic to heavy rock.
