Product Information

A perfectly balanced, visually stunning, sonically overwhelming work of art!

The PRS Custom 24 Electric Guitar is based on the original classic PRS guitars. The perfect combination of woods — maple top, mahogany back and neck, plus rosewood fretboard — meets the perfect electronics — HFS bridge and Vintage Bass neck pickups. Super-tight neck joint adds sustain and quality feel. 10" radius fretboard on a wide, thin neck grants very speedy freedom on the 24 fat frets. 5-way rotary pickup selector delivers precision tonal options. All crafted by master luthiers. You can't lose. Includes hardshell case.

5-Position Rotary Pickup Selector

This PRS feature allows great tonal versatility using two PRS humbucking pickups. The switch combines the coils of each pickup to produce all of the "PRS tones".

Rotary Positions (numbers on the control knob):

• Position 10: Treble pickup - powerful with plenty of definition - traditional humbucker tone

• Position 9: Outside coils in parallel - deep and clear sound

• Position 8: Series single-coils - warm version of in-between the treble and middle pickups.

• Position 7: Parallel single-coils - crisp version of in-between the treble and middle pickups

• Position 6: Bass pickup - warm with tons of character - traditional humbucker tone

Perfection

This guitar plays like a dream, and considering it's price it just may be the best guitar available. This is a beautiful guitar with amazing hardware which looks much much better in person than any photos of it online. It has excellent tone definition and a great crisp sound. The pick-ups give you an excellent sharp sounding tone which is perfect for playing styles like rock, blues, or metal. This guitar is just amazing and you cant get the full experience just by reading reviews, do yourself a favor and play this guitar, you will buy it without thinking twice.

The best guitar ever

This guitar is simply flawless. It sings, it sustains, the tonal variety is mind boggling, it stays in tune, it is consistant throughout the fretboard, the trem bridge is great, it looks spectacular. I wish I hadn't waited so long to buy one. It is the only guitar in which I have ever used the tone knob. The case is beautiful. I want another one !!!

Dream guitar... euphoria ensues...

I think, simply put, that PRS guitars are quite possibly the best guitars made (well... short of buying a custom built Anderson or Suhr or Zion). Judging by mine, that's certainly the case. Mine is a 20th anniversary PRS Custom 24 in blue quilt which i purchased new for a pitance as it was on sale. The only differences between it and the model listed on this website are the bird inlays are the 20th anniversary inlays and it has a 3 way versus a 5 way switch. Regardless, the guitar sounds like you would expect an instrument of this price to sound. The pickups are well vioced and have character (unlike Gibson LP pickups which in my opinion sound very common and get lost in the mix when playing with others). The sustain is also absolutly awesome. I'm used to an American Strat, no poor man's guitar, and even versus the A.S it's a huge improvement. The guitar was well worth the price. I'd easily pay twice as much for a guitar this good.

Smooth as Silk

Ive seen a bunch of guitars in magazines and on line and PRS guitars are the only ones that consistently look better in person. My custom 24 I had custom ordered in whale blue quilted. It is the most beautiful guitar I have ever seen. The two guitars I had played most before getting this one were the strat and Les Paul. My deal was I thought the Les Paul was too heavy and didnt feel good when you played it sitting down, the strats shape felt good but lets face it you cant really play metal on a strat. The custom 24 is the perfect blend of these two, a light guitar that sits well but instead of the strats country tone you get the most versatile guitar on earth that can melt your face, blow the roof off your house or put you to sleep before you can even start counting sheep. Play it and fall in love.
