PRS Custom 24 Doublecut Electric Guitar With Regular Neck, 3-Way Toggle Switch and Nickel Hardware (582761)
Availability:

A beautiful handpicked instrument that embodies all the elements of the quintessential PRS guitar.

Our buyers—experienced players themselves—went to Paul's Maryland shop where they handpicked a group of knockout guitars with the most stunning tops, unusual appointments, and the lightest bodies.

This buyer hand selected Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 Electric Guitar. It has a gorgeous carved flame maple 10 top beautifully finished in tortoise shell brown. The Custom 24 has a special 25" scale length coupled with a comfortable regular shape that gives this guitar exceptional playability. Abalone bird inlays adorn the 24-fret rosewood fingerboard and a natural maple body edge highlights the classic PRS double cutaway body. All hardware is nickel including a PRS tremolo bridge, and Phase II locking mini tuners.

The Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 produces a broad spectrum of tones with a PRS HFS pickup in the bridge position and a PRS Vintage Bass pickup in the neck position. The PRS HFS is a powerful pickup with a balance of aggression, clear highs, strong mid-range, and strong bass. The PRS Vintage Bass pickup has a warm high-mid sound that's excellent for rock or jazz. The PRS Custom 24 Electric guitar is exciting to behold and exhilarating to play!

5-Position Rotary Pickup Selector

This PRS feature allows great tonal versatility using two PRS humbucking pickups. The switch combines the coils of each pickup to produce all of the "PRS tones".

Rotary Positions (numbers on the control knob):

• Position 10: Treble pickup - powerful with plenty of definition - traditional humbucker tone

• Position 9: Outside coils in parallel - deep and clear sound

• Position 8: Series single-coils - warm version of in-between the treble and middle pickups.

• Position 7: Parallel single-coils - crisp version of in-between the treble and middle pickups

• Position 6: Bass pickup - warm with tons of character - traditional humbucker tone

  • One of the Very Best

As reviewed by Milt on 6/15/2010

The new Custom 24 is my fourth PRS in the last 12 years and, like my other three, it's simply one of the easiest to play, best sounding and best looking solid body electrics available. Period. I started with Fender Strats in the mid 60's, then moved to Gibson Les Pauls for their sustain and appearance. After 20 years playing LP's I bought my first Custom 24 in the 1990's and haven't looked back since. I've bought some far more expensive instruments from other manufacturers since, but none are as enjoyable to play as the C24. The C24 is also far lighter than most "real" Les Pauls --an important consideration when playing gigs or spending hours in the studio. It's also easier to play than any other guitar I know of -- making it possible to play licks beyond my abilities on most other guitars. Though I still enjoy playing (and admiring) my LP's, they feels clunky and unrefined compared to the C24. And wow, what tone and sustain -- not to mention the choice of excellent neck carves. Put simply, serious amateurs and pros alike just can't go wrong with the Custom 24. If I had to choose only one guitar to keep out of my rather extensive collection of LP's, Fenders, G&L's and others, the C24 would be the one . . . hands down.

  • PRS

As reviewed by Nathan Mayer on 6/8/2010

Everyone knows PRS is the greatest brands of guitars ever. Well they didnt let us down. The custom 24 is one of their best guitars. The pickups have so many options to choose from for better tones. The guitar is made for anything from jazz to country to metal. The maple top body really helps its elogance.
