ProMark Broomsticks play most like a traditional drumstick with a similar diameter. Broomsticks offer greater volume than brushes, though less attack than rods. Adjustable O-rings allow the player to change the spread of the bristles much like one would with a pair of brushes.

Comments about PROMARK Medium Broomsticks:
Waay cool addition to the drummer's arsenal: inexpensive, versatile, and expressive. My first pair was what they now call "Large", or 1" diameter. They are loud and a bit heavy, but nice. Now that Pro-Mark offers these in 7/8" & 3/4", it just gets better! The "bristles" are exaclty like the stuff you'd find in a broom and the two O-rings allow you to adjust the spread to taste. They will NOT be a replacement for brushes, they are a special tool on their own. The Broomsticks give you a sound something bewteen a stick and a brush. but feel like neither. I first heard these on a blues video with only a horn and drums and the snare with broomstick went with that horn like peanut butter and jelly. I couldn't imagine accompanying a brasswind with anything else. Odd, but true. Give these a try, there's probably a zillion ways to use them!
