Comments about PDP Double Bass Drum Pedal:

Got this pedal from stupid deal of the day. It's very smooth, adjustable, and the hardware doesn't make any unnecessary noise. The only thing I can think of being not so great is the amount of rebound, almost excessive. Now this is totally just a preference, it's hard to control at first, but once you find the right footing it's not so bad. Other than that it's built sturdy and looks like it'll last for years to come

    Maybe I Got Lucky?

Comments about PDP Double Bass Drum Pedal:

I bought one of these pedals six years ago, and to my surprise, as well as everyone else's, it's still working. Whenever I tell a fellow drummer this, they are just absolutely blown away by the fact that it lasted more than a year before breaking. I'm not the most dedicated metal drummer, but I play stuff like The Devil Wears Prada and Killswitch Engage, so I did indeed give the slave pedal plenty of use. I may have just gotten lucky, but this rusty, creaky pedal is still operating smoothly(-ish). Now here come the cons: This pedal is slower than Gilbert Grape wading through a river of molasses while wearing parachute pants. It's the equivalent of wearing ankle weights to 300m hurdles practice. A couple years ago I went into a Guitar Center and played a Tama Speed Cobra double pedal, and I was amazed at how fast I was when the pedal doesn't feel like it has the Titanic as a counter-weight. So I guess in a way it's a positive muscle resistance trainer. Also, the hardware is prone to rust easily. I recently bought a DW 3000 double pedal and I do not regret the upgrade at all. The PDP pedal isn't a bad choice if you're a beginner that wants to learn how to be fast the hard way, but I recommend upgrading to a smoother pedal within a year or two of playing it (if it even lasts that long before breaking. So in summary, a notoriously bad pedal ended up being okay. However, I might have just gotten lucky. If it weren't for it still being operational after 5 years of somewhat abusive treatment, I would give it 2 stars for speed. 4 stars.

    Bad Pedals

Comments about PDP Double Bass Drum Pedal:

It's a great quality pedal but it doesn't have great response. It falls apart and will need constant fixing. Cannot do double hits with just one pedal. I have had this for a few months and now I am going to save up to get Iron Cobras. I DON'T recommend these pedals.
