If you are reading this, you probably have already read at lease 3 or 4 other reviews. You also are trying to decide whether to get the double chain or single, so if you are looking at the single chain here?s my review. Like you before purchasing this product I read the review and I will compare the reviews to how I feel about the actual product. For the most part the reviews for this product were great, some said that it gets a little squeaky after a while, one totally went off on the pedal and said don?t buy it what so ever. I agree and disagree with all of them. To start when you first open the box, the set up looks very easy and it is. It only took 5-10 minutes to put it together. Tip; the first thing I did even before I put it on the drum set, was oil it. I recommend you purchase a can of ?WD-40? at your nearest hardware store, Wal-Mart or Target. IF ANY ONE WORKING FOR GUITAR CENTER IS READING THIS, WD-40 WOULD BE A GOOD PRODUCT TO HAVE IN THE DRUM SECTION! Moving on. BE VERY CARFUL PUTTING ATTACHING IT TO UR BASS DRUM, especially if you have a wooden drum, for it will chip some wood off. Underneath both pedals is Velcro. But, if you are putting this on regular household carpet ?the one with the strands? then the Velcro is of not much help. However, there is on the second pedal something where you can screw 2 nails into the floor, something like what most of you have on your bass drum legs. Lastly playing the double pedal is alsome there is no squeaking no does it slide often. However as I mentioned the pros there are some cons. Deciding where the second pedal goes can be some what challenging, as you may have to more your hi hat to the side a little and your snare up or back, changing the way you are used to playing a bit. Also IT DOES NOT COME WITH FELT BEATERS, so you might want to save some money and invest in a good pair of beaters, for the semi-soft plastic ones they give tend to stick just a little to the plastic bass drum head. REMEMBER! Don?t be stengie on that oil! Use lots of it because it prevents rusting and the annoying squeaking that lucky I have not come across yet.

Definitely a good pedal there is no doubt about that. I guess have one...fairly significant complaint about it though. It's the fact that the main pedal doesn't come with a stabilization plate like the left one does. This is a problem that speaks for itself because not only do humans naturally favor one side of their body and thus use their left and right parts in slightly different ways...but it causes problems related specifically to drumming by potentially making this varying movement a bigger problem over time. Basically...the right leg has to work harder considering there is no stabilization plate. This causes substantially different feels in the left and right foot and even develops ur muscles differently in the process! (my right leg has to work so much harder and it definitely develops and works the right calve more than the left). Also because of the lack of a stabilization plate the whole contraption literally moves back and forth when playing both feet and of course...this makes the issue even more noticeable. But for the price I guess you take that risk...still a good pedal though. And don't expect to use it for very fast playing though. But with some adjustment to the rocking back and forth and different feel of the left and right pedal and a lot of practice and determination it is surprising what you can do with these pedals.

Very versatile, great sound. Only draw back it need more inputs for pad and cymbals. And they really need to come up with DVD that walks you through setting up and helping you on the module who is at the module. That is my biggest complaint. YouTube is OK but not enough.

Don't listen to anyone that says this is bad. If you just tighten everything it'll stay together. It's great and it runs smoothly.

            Awesome Pedals!!!( PDP DP 402)

            By Tina Thies

            from Naples,Fl

Comments about PDP DP402 Double Bass Drum Pedal:

I just got these pedals today and they are the best!! very light to push on and they don't squeak. I'm not a pro but I have been playing for at least 12 yrs. I can go very fast with these pedals and not feel the strain in my legs. So I can go longer without taking breaks!! Also the grips on the pedals help keep my feet in place when playing. I did a little research before I got these Pedals and read all the reviews. When I first started drumming I paid 200.00 dollars for some double pedals and they were very hard to use because it took a lot of effort to play them and I paid 119.dollars for this pedal and so far it was worth it!!

            Double Bass Pedal

            By Jacob Rife

            from Ft. Wayne, Indiana

Comments about PDP DP402 Double Bass Drum Pedal:

I love this pedal. It is awesome. I picked it up at GC used for 50 dollars an amazing deal by the way. I went home put it on my drum set and it worked like a charm. There were only two problems with it. First the beaters were awful. I just didnt like the way they felt or hit my bass drum. So i picked up so new Tama felt beaters (the best kind of beaters.) The other problem was that the pedal would slide forward when i was playing but that is not really the pedals fault. In the end this is a amazing pedal and i definitely suggest buying it for the great price.

            from bradenton FL

Comments about PDP DP402 Double Bass Drum Pedal:

i have been a drummer for about five years now and know what feels good is all that matters... these pedals were the second i have used they have some down sides but right out of the box they felt great the other pedals i used were a pair of pearl eliminators which i didnt like nearly as much. the pdp402 isnt top of the line but i woul play these any day and i do ive only had these pedals for just about a year but my double bass skills increased drasticly i play anything from death metal to jazz so i like that they are just as versitile as i am in my playing styles long story short these are great pedals give em a try what do you have to lose...

I bought this pedal the other day and have been going to town. I went into the store and they said it was a good upgrade from the 100 dollar set, they we're right. With the pedal you can consist a fast speed. The double beater is great too. This is a must buy!!!

            It works

            By Josh

            from Bothell, Washington

Comments about PDP DP402 Double Bass Drum Pedal:

Its pretty good for the price, but the pedal could be better. It's great for a first-timer though. The issues I run into are the beaters go too far back, hitting your shins/ankles and the nuts and bolts tend to fall off. It's good if you just want to play, but beyond that falls short.
