We purchased this set for our 11 year old for Christmas and are very pleased so far (been less than a month since we owned). We ordered online and they were shipped from one store to another. The shipping was very quick. I have to say I was disappointed that I ordered "Onyx" online and the set is "Blue", which was not what we were expecting (the exterior box contained nothing visible about the color), but once the box was opened, our son was excited, and we didn't want to deal with packaging up and driving an hour to exchange. The assembly was fairly straight forward and quality is good for a starter set at this price point. We tuned them a bit, which really helped the sound (our drumming instructor was impressed for the price point - we have nothing to compare to). We will be replacing the cymbols, as they are cheap sounding and probably won't last very long. Also, would be nice if a throne was included with the set, so plan on purchasing this separate. Only reason for 4 stars vs 5 stars is receiving a different color than what we initially ordered.

We purchased this set for our son. He was excited about being able to chose a color and to have his own set. Our drum instructor was pleased with the quality of the shells except for the damage to the kick drum. The cymbals were very poor quality. Kick drum head will need to be replaced as it sounds poorly. Hardware is quality.

Decent drums, good value

Comments about PDP CENTERstage 5-piece Drum Set with Hardware and Cymbals:

I've been playing for a few months now and decided to buy my own kit. I was happy with the value here and the quality of the drums is pretty solid. Hardware seems durable. The crash cymbal has a God-awful sound. I won't be able to play this kit until I'm able to find another crash; it's that bad. The hi-hat cymbals aren't great either, but I can get by with them until I find a deal on a new pair.

I was very disappointed with the fact that it did not come with assembly instructions. I was able to find some online, but dang, send me some instructions if I'm paying this much for a kit. Also wish it came with a throne, but at a discounted price, you get what you pay for.

A great 5 piece drum set. I am a beginner drummer and love playing this set. Well made product with good heads as it comes. Using better drum sticks and bought set of Furth brushes.

Comments about PDP CENTERstage 5-piece Drum Set with Hardware and Cymbals:

I bought these for my son last Xmas,... he's an aspiring metal drummer who really puts a pounding on these drums. Haven't had a quality issue with the drums or the hardware. Obviously the factory heads & cymbals needed to be upgraded. These drums came to life with new Evans heads! Great beginner/intermediate kit or backup kit.

Comments about PDP CENTERstage 5-piece Drum Set with Hardware and Cymbals:

Bought this set a while back when I was first starting out. I'd suggest if you are buying this set to invest in new cymbals as the ones that come with it are absolutely garbage and don't do the rest of the product any justice. After adding some Zildjian ZBTs and an Iron Cobra double kick this set is still sounding great nearly 3 years later and can handle those long band practices

Comments about PDP CENTERstage 5-piece Drum Set with Hardware and Cymbals:

I've recently purchased 2 of these drum sets. One for my 10 yr old grandson and another for my friend who is just starting to play. I have been playing for 50 years and was very impressed with the quality of the sets especially for the price. These drums can be used for years and the hardware has great finish and is very sturdy.. They have a good tone and was simple to set up. I would recommend this set to anyone who is starting out or who has been playing for awhile.

Comments about PDP CENTERstage 5-piece Drum Set with Hardware and Cymbals:

I recently bought a PDP Centerstage drum set from Guitar Center in Dayton OH on 12/31/15. (PDP CENTERstage 5-piece Drum Set with Hardware and Cymbals Ruby ( ID - 109563973) item #: J00429000004000). I picked up the set on 8 Jan 16 after a huge shipping issue, where I worked with the Ops Manager, and the Store Manager. After resolving the shipping issue, I picked up the drums and put the set together, letting it temperature stabilize in my heated, finished basement. I have tuned the drums over time but am running into issues with the base drum head (pedal side). After repeatedly placing the drum on the a carpeted floor and installing the hoops over the head, and tuning opposite lugs in a clockwise fashion, what happens over time is one side of the base drum shifts. At first I thought it was because I didn't have the lugs tight enough, so I attempted to tune it at least three other times, using more tension each time. I have had no issues with any of the other drums (toms or snare). One time I attempted to tighten the lugs a little bit more centering them over the head, however once again over time the hoops seem to shift after use. So I adjusted the hoops again over the skin, and after close observation, I must say there is a good ¼ inch gap between the hoop and the metal ring on the head, where the skin begins to curve. I thought this excessive and compared the hoop on the pedal side to the one on the front of the base, and they are the same diameter. Recently I swapped the hoops between the front and rear, and it appears I am having the same issue. It looks as if the metal retaining ring on the skin, barely fits the diameter of the hoop, and it could easily slip inside one side of the hoop or the other. The skin fits pretty well over the outside diameter of the base drum. So it appears to me, that either the metal retaining ring around the skin is too small in diameter because it slips into the hoop, or the hoops are oversized.
