Recently I decided to invest in a nicer pedal. I was unsure about this one considering I wasn't extremely happy with the 402, but wasn't in the best financial situation when browsing. The dual chain drive is what ultimately hooked me, since I've been playing in a metalcore band for nearly 4 years and I needed something quick. When I received the pedal I immediately found out it was a great choice. It's lightweight, has a super quick response and great stock mallets. Not to mention all the nice features, which makes it super easy to set up to your comfort. The only minor problem I had was getting the pedal to stay stationary when playing. However, a little velcrow on the bottom did the trick!!! I recommend this to any drummer, beginner or professional. Dont spend the big bucks unless you really have to!!

This is a smooth pedal for sure. But there are MANY cons to this pedal.

1. It requires me a lot of effort to put in if I want to play fast double bass.
2. The spring keeps breaking.
3. The grip on the bottom of the slave pedal keeps on slipping.
4. The beaters are heavy.
5. There is a little stud on the left of the slave pedal which doesn't allow me to position my hihat stand in proportion with this.

Like this as much as my DW 5002

Comments about PDP 502 Double-Kick Drum Pedal:

I got this thrown in with my Simmons SD1000 kit,and I actually didnt play the pedals until I got home, they are heavy duty and super fast. You can't beat the price point and this double out-performs more expensive pedals, very happy to have it.

Comments about PDP 502 Double-Kick Drum Pedal:

These pedal work great! I have no problem with them whatsoever. they are pretty stable and have a strong body. I like how they look like. one thing I did was replace the 2 beaters with better ones, because these come plastic and are kinda loud. overall I would say these pedals are a great buy for this price. infact amazing! buy them!!!

Comments about PDP 502 Double-Kick Drum Pedal:

This pedal isn't the best I've played on, but its definitely one of the best, and it's easy to set up with the drum key included. Definitely worth the money, easy to set up, and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to buy a good double pedal...like this one!

Excellent choice!

By Eric Dahl

Comments about PDP 502 Double-Kick Drum Pedal:

I got a Simmons sd5k electric drum set last Christmas, had to get a bigger kick-pad for the double kick though. But since it did not come with the pedals, that was a pain in the butt. But when I hooked up these pedals and started playing, I just could'nt stop. Ended up getting blisters on my hand but it was all in good fun. My only regret is that I had to get a rug meant for drum-sets, and velcrow (however that is spelled) to keep it from sliding faward on me. But everything else about it is awsome. The chain is so much better than the alternative. Now I just need to get my legs to move fast enough to play speed and thrash metal on it. So I sugest these babies to everyone who wants great quality equipment. So get em on, and play fast because life moves too slow!

Comments about PDP 502 Double-Kick Drum Pedal:

I went to my local Guitar Center to find some good pedals. I tried every single pedal in the store. I lastly tried the PDP 502's. All I can say is woah. These pedals are great. The pedals them self are so smooth it's not funny. I highly recommend that you buy these. Especially for the great price!

Very Nice

By Jack Neller

Comments about PDP 502 Double-Kick Drum Pedal:

Had a very old set of 1990's era Dixon pedals. Never used them much, but now I got some double bass work I need to polish. So I got these to replace them. Wow, I haven't played double bass much in years, but these made re-learning a breeze. For the price, I would recommend them to anyone who is on a budget or doesn't "need" a more expensive pedal. Works great, great price.. Nuff said.

PDP 502 Double kick pedal

By Zachary Mendoza

from Salem, Oregon

Comments about PDP 502 Double-Kick Drum Pedal:

I went over to Guitar Center after thinking about this purchase for a very, very long time. I spent a long time thinking it over because I wasn't too sure on whether it would be worth the purchase or not. I could either get these pedals now, or wait a while and get some nicer pedals, or more expensive pedals I mean. I say that because these pedals really surprised me when I opened them up. They are very sturdy, and easy on the eyes. They do not come with the "adjustable toe clamps" or at least mine didn't, but I also bought them brand new. The first thing already broke after having them for a couple hours, and it was all my fault. There is a plastic drum key holder underneath the main pedal(which is very convenient I might add( that snapped after using it twice. I did however pull the key out to the side being behind the pedal, so to through the fault of my own it snapped. Other then that the pedal has held up great so far. I played songs of my favorite bands for a couple of hours and they felt great. I will probably do a follow review after a bit longer, but I'm sure they will still be fine. PDP does a great job at making everything affordable while maintaining quality. Everyone writes reviews about how the 402's are very poorly built, but they really aren't. I had those before these and some pearl pedals. Its all in your technique. I have no problem playing at 200-220 bpm with these pedals. For now that is where I max out, but it is through no fault of any of the pedals I have used. Do yourself a favor and stop blaming the equipment you have. Practice.

Not too shabby

By Jakob Bayuk

from joliet, ILL

Comments about PDP 502 Double-Kick Drum Pedal:

Pros: -These pedals don't move around a lot, they are extremely sturdy, and can take whatever you dish out to them. -They have a LOT of power to them, heels up OR down. You will get a good, loud hit from it. -They are very easy to adjust, and i was impressed with the spring design. -They don't offer you a lot of fancy trinkets, which allows you to spend less time setting up and more time playing Sweet spot is easy to find -Easy to Adjust, and you won't have to worry about anything coming loose. Cons: -The stock beaters are dual sided, the grey part is hard plastic, and the back is rubber. It takes a bit to get used to, and its a pretty heavy head so it feels a bit harder to control - Adjusting the foot-board height makes you adjust the beater angel; the only alternative is figuring out how to remove the chain and move it a notch up, which i couldn't figure out because the instructions weren't included - the entire pedals feels a bit heavier than DW pedals, which are already pretty heavy. -Would feel much better as a single pedal, in my opinion Overall, i would definitely recommend this to anyone new, or someone who likes a heavy pedal or is looking for more power in their pedal.
