I purchased this guitar almost a year ago. I have a 12 celebrity mid bowl and I love it. I never thought I would love the sound of this guitar even more! The deep bowl creates a fuller sound. It projects a lot more when you are not plugged in. The first time a played this in church, the other guitarists kept looking around to see where that great sound was coming from. They were plugged in, I was not. The coutour makes it easier to play without sliding. there is a texture to the bowl that also helps keep it in place while you are playing. the finish is just beautiful and really catches the eye. I was looking at this guitar fir a long time. I am so glad I took the leap and have one of my own!
Bought the guitar on line through Guitar Center; Guitar Center is great. Out of the box, the guitar was playable but when being set up by my guitar tech, he discovered the fretboard was bowed at the connection point between the neck and the body. Ovation covered the repair under warranty. After being set up, the guitar plays great. Now I have a problem with the on board electronics and it is back to the shop for more warranty repairs. The guitar otherwise sounds and looks great. I was dissapointed that the guitar was made in Korea rather than the U.S. You get what you pay for. I own two other Ovation guitars and am very pleased with the sound and playability of all three guitars.
I was very surprised by this guitar. It's a winner all the way. It's so much easier to play than previous 12 Strings I've owned, and it stays in tune remarkably. East to tune with the built in tuner, and fingering the low E strings are no issue, it's a breeze. Sounds great, looks great, an excellent value.
I began playing guitar ten or fifteen years ago with an Ovation I bought used for almost nothing... and loved it. Acoustic electric, fun to learn on. So, many years and many guitars later I thought a 12-string would make a good addition to the herd. And I decided to start with an Ovation. glad I did. Ovation makes a great guitar, and this 12-string is a great place to start. Yeah, you can buy a guitar for less, but Ovatoin makes a great guitar that sounds wonderful the day you bring it home. I'm happy I bouth this, and very happy with the sound. Thank you Guitar Center.
