This is a wonderful acoustic-electric. The cutaway is very convienient. It is also easy to play bar chords on this one. People with smaller hands should find this a good feature. When fitted with a nice set of strings, the sound is wonderful. Without an amp, it sometimes has a harp-like tone if you pick further away from the bridge (espeically half way, on the harmonic). When you are playing in a band with electric guitars, and you still want a very warm and clear acoustic sound, this is the guitar to use.

I got this guitar as my first about 5 years ago, and i hate it. It is awkward to play, it slides down your lap while you are playing it. I find myself holding it up with my left hand while i am playing, which is makes playing a lot harder. The plastic back takes away from a good solid acoustic sound, and the guitar is WAY too loud. I have tried to lead worship with it acoustic, and the person singing could barely sing over it. Overall, it is a horrible guitar and NOT worth how much they ask for it.

best low end guitar

By Kevin Kratsch

from oshkosh wi

First, the top is outstanding in color and finish. The mid-bowl as some reviewers stated does slip when your posture is not correct. Sit up in the chair it stays put. Solid and straight neck but I expected a mahogany neck and thus a deep reed stain. The wood grain looks like mahogany but with a maple color. No other way to explain it. Not a prob it?s attractive and feels great. Electric tuner is dead on accurate. I have not received my amp yet so unplugged play only. Don?t anticipate issues. Fret board is lovely and no buzz. The tuning machines are ROCK solid and stay in tune for DAYS. That surprised me. Then the action; it arrived with very high action, something Ovation claims isn?t so. I ?D? tuned it, solved the playability issue. It will have to go in for a bone nut and saddle replacement soon (Guitar Center $150 (why?) and local music store $40 for this service, no brainer where it?s going) Nothing serious enough here to knock a star off. By far the best low end acoustic I?ve ever had, hands down. (Did I say the sound?s superb?)Staff is OUTSTANDING in appleton WI

Great guitar for this price point.

By Gregory Musson

from Eureka, California

I have had my ruby red Ovation Celebrity CC24 for about 3 weeks now and I love it. When this guitar showed up on my door step, I immediately fell in love, what a gorgeous guitar. For this price point, the fit and finish are outstanding. The neck could have been polished a little more towards the top of the head, but for under $400.00 I am very pleased. I have played many different guitars over the years of differing price points. This guitar can hold its own with ease of play and sound. I have wanted to own an ovation for many years, but never pulled the trigger. I would have to say it was worth the wait. If you are looking for a great sounding guitar but don't have a fat wallet, this guitar should be on your short list to consider.

awesome guitar!!!

By rafael

from brownsville, tx

The guitar is really comfortable to play on, the strings are closer to the frets than on most acoustic guitars which makes playing alot easier on the fingers when you are barely starting.. it sounds great, and the built in tuner comes in handy. the guitar has a beautiful finish and looks great. All in all it is a great guitar for a reasonable price.

Excellent Sound!

By Nick Laurin

I cant tell the difference when it's plugged in or not. The mid-depth bowl feels lovely. Excellent guitar. I have a trans-black version, which I'm playing as I write this. All in all, great guitar, worth the money.

AMAZING!

By akoch

from Detroit, Michigan

I love this guitar. It's easy to play, and its perfect for any level of experience. The round back makes it really comfy, but it still has that full tone to it. The built in tuner works really well, and it's so convenient. I bought mine in a red finish, and it's absolutely gorgeous. I took a picture and you can see my reflection in it perfectly. The wood on the back of the neck is beautiful. I was considering buying an ovation with the leaves on it, but i decided on this one for the sound quality. For a primarily acoustic player that wants a little bit of an electric feel, this guitar is perfect. I have no complaints.

One Amazing Guitar

By Joseph Petersen

from CA,Roseville

This is a great guitar. It looks amazing and sounds just as good. You cannot beat this guitar for the price. It sounds amazing plugged into an amp as well as unplugged. It is lightweight and easy to play. The only thing I reccomend would be to lower the bridge a bit once you get it for easier play. It comes with some peices of carboard under the bridge just take out a couple the next time you string it up and it will sound and play amazingly. Buying this guitar would not be a mistake.

Awesome!!!

By Jasooon

from San Diego, California

This guitar is very nice. The sound that comes out of it is amazing!! Both plugged in and unplugged, you will love the sound. The neck feels very nice and smooth. It is the same thickness as a regular acoustic so the depth is the same as any martin or taylor. The only bad this on this guitar is the tuner. It is pretty confusing. I would recommend using a pedal tuner, or tuning with a piano if you have one. Overall, THIS THING ROCKS!

Freakin' Amazing!

By SLIM

from Sonora, CA

Alright guys...I bought this guitar when I first started playing. A local dealer showed me around the shop and this was just staring at me. The color, the abalone fret markers, gold hardware,...all amazing. I bought this right away. The feel of this guitar is unbeatable. Everything about this is great. When this is plugged in, it has feedback like all other Acustic Electrics but whatever. The unplugged sound is not anything that could explain(In a good way). I play this at school and all eyes are on the guitar because of its sheer beauty. During the preformances of OKLAHOMA, I played this with my fellow cast memebers. They loved it. I Love it. Buy it!
