The LX features a scalloped bracing pattern that evenly supports the top to provide the ultimate in acoustic output. The exotic wood leaf-shaped "epaulets" are now inlaid into the top with laser precision.

AWESOME

By Jorge

Comments about Ovation 2077LX Legend Contour Bowl Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar about a month ago and I am really satisfied. I initially tried the entry level Ovations, they sounded OK until I tried this...I was completely sold even at a higher price...The depth in its sound is way cool. I play folk and country, and also rock tunes and I do not think any other guitar I tried could top this sound. The deep bowl takes some getting used to, but once you do is fine, it was just that at the beginning it tended to slip on my lap if seating. Overall, great buy if you are serious about sound.

Great Versatile Instrument

By Ken

Comments about Ovation 2077LX Legend Contour Bowl Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Owned this guitar for years. This is an instrument of the highest quality. Zero monitor feedback (one of the things Ovation is known for), and extremely durable craftsmanship. This is a guitar that will stand up to the abuse of travel and playing. The neck is extremely comfortable to play and is 1 11/16 at the nut. Removable shims at the bridge make setup adjustments easy at string-change time. Everything about this guitar is easy to speak well of. Bound ebony fretboard, solid sitka top, glossy mahogany/maple neck, On-board tuner, it's all good. The aestetics of this guitar will get many a compliment, it's really a work of art. You owe it to yourself to try one of these on for size. As mentioned in a previous review, the deep bowl may take some getting used to if you've not played one before, but once you adapt to that, this is a comfortable guitar to handle, sitting or standing. The OP-Pro Studio preamp seems to have an inherant defect that causes the battery light to stay on, but otherwise an extremely versatile unit, with compressor, high, mid, and low range EQ. Mine was made in U.S.A, so I can't speak to the quality that are coming out of Asia after Fender (TM) bought Kaman {original developers of Ovation guitars}. If you are not convinced these are reputable guitars, let's look at a few players: Cat Stevens, Robert Fripp, John Lennon, David Gilmour, Jimmy Page, Al Di Meola, Richie Sambora, Jim Croce, Glen Campbell, every Marley you can name...the list just goes on. Check 'em out before you buy an acoustic-electric.
