  • Ovation Idea

As reviewed by Ben Perea on 12/31/2008

This guitar is my new favorite! I use it for practicing new material as well as on stage! People are instantly attracted to it! Sounds great plugged in as intended to be used by design but I probably wouldn't use it acoustically although it sounds just fine that way too. I love it!

  • Love it but not that much

As reviewed by Andrea C. on 7/28/2009

Initial Reaction: Despite Ovation making this guitar exciting... it did not hold up to my expectations of what it would be like. Experience: I have been playing for over 4 years now and I found that this guitar is very beginner. The lessons online were not useful for me and the MP3 tempo changing was ok but I found that I didn't need it to learn songs. Guitar: The guitar has a really nice look and is different from other acoustics because there is little wood on it. The guitar looks whiter in the pictures online but it is a nice silver color. Action (strings): Higher than I would like but overall manageable. The action is lower near the head of the guitar and higher near the sound holes if that helps. Bottom Line: I would have bought a different guitar for the amount that I paid. This guitar is not worth the money.

  • Not really what u want...

As reviewed by that1whtflip on 1/19/2010

This guitar when you look at it, read the features, and even by the sight of the name...make you think "this is gonna be a great guitar!" I thought the same thing before buying it. the truth is...as good as a concept as this is...and just the reputation this brand holds up...cant make up for how much this guitar actually lacks. The batteries run out too fast...the tuner barely picks up the sound sometimes...or acts like its confused...the style is great, and the sound is good on acoustic...but if i wanted just acoustic i wouldnt have paid for this. The electric part of it was alright...not as crisp and clean as i wouldve hoped...idk maybe it was just that guitar... to me its not neccesarily worth what it costs but ovation...good concept...great design...but some kinks need to be worked out...the guitar im working with now is the Fender CD140SCE and i love it...gread single cutaway dreadnought with a nice deep sound.
